Well guys, today is one year that Czari has been inside. It wasn't an easy start. Those first few weeks I didn't know if this would work. I wasn't sure either of us were up to the task, but little by little my girl started to realize being inside isn't so bad, even if she did have to share her space with 4 other cats.

From a stray spending her life outside.

To a scared girl who had her entire life turned upside down.

And finally, a loving cat who's finally happy and loved.

Winston, I remember when I tried it the first time. I felt like such a failure. But what really helped me was being better prepared. Giving her the kitchen space for those first few months helped immensely, and so did the medication. Little by little she came out of her shell, and I allowed her to dictate the pace.

She's still a bit standoffish with the others, but I'm happy to say there have been no major fights with any of them. They all coexist quite well, and have no issues sharing the 3 litter boxes I have for them. I consider myself unbelievably lucky.

I adore all of my babies, but I'm most proud of Czari, because she's overcome so much more, and so have I through her.

Jim - Yes, love and kindness can do wonders.

Melinda - She is VERY loved. :lovestruck: It warms my heart when I call "Who wants treats" and she comes running. At first, she had no idea what that was, and now she's just like the others.

L4H, I think she was ready for the change. Little by little she realized, things weren't so bad inside.

Thank you all for the well wishes, and mostly for ALL of the support you gave me in those first months.

Having her here with us, has made those difficult times worth the effort.
