Hugs From Heaven
by Charlotte Anselmo

When you feel a gentle breeze
Caress you when you sigh
It's a hug sent from Heaven
From a loved one way up high.

If a soft and tender raindrop
Lands upon your nose
They've added a small kiss
As fragile as a rose.

If a song you hear fills you
With a feeling of sweet love
It's a hug sent from Heaven
From someone special up above.

If you awaken in the morning
To a bluebird's chirping song
It's music sent from Heaven
To cheer you all day long.

If tiny little snowflakes
Land upon your face
It's a hug sent from Heaven
Trimmed with Angel lace.

So keep the joy in your heart
If you're lonely my dear friend
Hugs that are sent from Heaven
A broken heart will mend.

For you over the next days and weeks, Hazel.

We at Pets share in your sorrow hazel. You are such an integral part of Pets how could we not share your pain. :grouphug: to you. I know how hard it is to lose a loved one. How very special for your dad to send the bird to let you know he is ok now. They always find a way to let us know. We just have to look for it. :candle:

WHEN I'M GONE

When I come to the end of my journey
And I travel my last weary mile,
Just forget if you can, that I ever frowned
And remember only the smile.

Forget unkind words I have spoken;
Remember some good I have done.
Forget that I ever had a heartache
And remember I've had loads of fun.

Forget that I have stumbled and blundered
And sometimes fell by the way.

Remember I have fought some hard battles
And won, ere the close of day,
Then forget to grieve for my going,
I would not have you sad for a day,

But in summer just gather some flowers
And remember the place where I lay,
And come in the evening
When the sun paints the sky in the west,
Stand for a few moments beside me
And remember only my best.

Hazel I posted in the other thread also, but likewise wanted to give my support here. You know I recently lost my mother, so my heart grieves with yours. Of course they don't want us to be sad though. So remember the good times and hold those memories close to your heart and your father will know he is with you always. :grouphug: to you and your family. Your cyber family here at pets is here for you.

Life Goes On
by Tarna

The rain will fall the snow will sparkle,
the tree's will blow and the birds will sing, children will dance flowers will grow,
music will ring and tears will flow,
ice will melt and memories felt.
Yesterday i was there, today i am not.
The angels called upon me and led me far away.
Tears will fall, hearts will break.
but i am still there in your heart.
I can still be felt.
close your eyes can you see me standing there? remember life goes on.
one day we will meet but until then enjoy what you have got.
If you ever need me just close your eyes and i will be there,
open your eyes and i will be gone,
now live your life and move on.
Remember i am only sleeping.
i will never be too far.
i will be that star shining down on you,
can you see it?
tonight i say goodbye,
tonight i shed my last tear,
i have to leave the angels are near.
Fall with the rain,
sparkle with the snow,
blow with the tree's
and sing with the birds,
dance with the children
and ring with the music
,
enjoy yourself and be happy,
smile and cry sing and dance,
laugh and be sad.
share moments and express feelings.
stengthen and weaken.
love and smile.
you are still young, your life is yours.
forever will i miss you.
but now I've been laid to rest.
the angel came i got my wings.
i can fly, and i can sore
i can reach where I've never been before.

close your eyes see I'm still standing there.

just thought this be nice :grouphug::grouphug:

May 30th, 2009, 12:10 AM
Yep--hubby is driving me down on Sunday, then coming to pick me up on Wed. Visitation/funeral mass/burial is on Tuesday. After the ceremony at the cemetery, we're all going to lunch at Dad's favorite restaurant. :D

We're doing pretty well...I'm the only one not in Milwaukee right now. They're busy...wish I could do more...but it's keeping them focused. By the time Tues rolls around, we'll be ready to celebrate a life rather than mourn a death :thumbs up

I'm glad you are going to get to spend some time with your family. When my dad died it was sudden as well and it was horrible but wonderful at the same time (if that makes sense). I did the eulogy  but it was based on great shared family memories and after the funeral we had a big gathering at my parents home and we all had an absolute great time playing cards, toasting and sharing memories :).

Missing him still knocks me on my ass now and then (five years) and when it does the furries are a wonderful comfort :lovestruck:. I am glad that you already have all those furries lined up to help you :thumbs up.

TeriM, we're like that, too--I expect a great party at the restaurant on Tuesday. :thumbs up We want him and Mom to look down and see us remembering happy things :D

All packed and ready to go...leaving bright and early tomorrow morning. Just trying to think if I've forgotten anything...
