We at Pets share in your sorrow hazel. You are such an integral part of Pets how could we not share your pain. :grouphug: to you. I know how hard it is to lose a loved one. How very special for your dad to send the bird to let you know he is ok now. They always find a way to let us know. We just have to look for it. :candle:

Everything is starting to settle into place and everyone is coming to terms with Dad's death. It was just such a sudden thing.

Hazel I posted in the other thread also, but likewise wanted to give my support here. You know I recently lost my mother, so my heart grieves with yours. Of course they don't want us to be sad though. So remember the good times and hold those memories close to your heart and your father will know he is with you always. :grouphug: to you and your family. Hazel, are you going to be able to attend the funeral? How is your family coping with all this :sad:.

Yep--hubby is driving me down on Sunday, then coming to pick me up on Wed. Visitation/funeral mass/burial is on Tuesday. After the ceremony at the cemetery, we're all going to lunch at Dad's favorite restaurant. :D

We're doing pretty well...I'm the only one not in Milwaukee right now. They're busy...wish I could do more...but it's keeping them focused. By the time Tues rolls around, we'll be ready to celebrate a life rather than mourn a death :thumbs up

I'm glad you are going to get to spend some time with your family. When my dad died it was sudden as well and it was horrible but wonderful at the same time (if that makes sense). I did the eulogy :eek: but it was based on great shared family memories and after the funeral we had a big gathering at my parents home and we all had an absolute great time playing cards, toasting and sharing memories :).

Missing him still knocks me on my ass now and then (five years) and when it does the furries are a wonderful comfort :lovestruck:. I am glad that you already have all those furries lined up to help you :thumbs up.

So sorry to hear about your Dad Hazel......death at any time is extremely hard to deal with, but when its sudden- its extremely shocking. I will keep you in my prayers.....and hopefully your road ahead will be gentle.
