I took a few better pics of the kittens - I can't resist - they are so cute!
And of course Mama Pickles.. Couldn't get a good face on shot of her - she's camera shy :cloud9:

Sad news .. I also posted this in Rainbow Bridge, but little Gherkin passed away this morning.
Dill still seems to be doing okay - and we'll be supplementing it with kitten formula. I had to break the news to the woman who wanted Gherkin.. :rip:

May 15th, 2009, 02:25 PM
OH NO ....I'm so sorry to hear about Gherkin. :grouphug:
:rip: sweet little one :candle:
I hope Dill will be okay and that the woman who wanted Gherkin will take him instead. :fingerscr :goodvibes:

The woman said she still wants updates on Dill, so :fingerscr
I also suggested to her the possibility of taking Pickles, as she's pretty much a kitten herself. She didn't reply to that option, but maybe she'll take it if dill doesn't make it.. but I'm of course pulling for the little guy!

Do you have any idea why they would die with mom right there taking care of them???
Is it just one of those things that can happen to baby-kittens:confused:
Pickles is one really pretty kitty,I can't see why she would not want her:cat:
May 19th, 2009, 12:12 PM
Yeah, we did some research, and it seems as though Gherkin died because his blood wasn't compatible with his mom's .. sometimes it can take several days for it take effect..
The good news is that Dill is thriving - he's getting so big already, and his eyes are starting to open.. I'll try to get some new pics ready soon..
I don't know if the woman will take either of them now.. I was talking to the woman who referred her to me, and she said that this woman is dead set on getting either a completely orange cat or a grey one.. I was hoping that since Pickles has some orange in her it would be suffice, but I don't know if I should count on it..
Oh well, it'll still be a couple of months before Dill will be ready to be out on his own, so I won't worry about it until I have to.

Well,if she's so picky with color,she might not be the right mom to begin with..a cat,is a cat,is a cat to me:cat:

I'm with you on that one - I think it's her daughter that's the problem..
