Hi to all cat lovers,
Our two cats are six years old, we feed them Hills Prescription c/d Multi care with chicken we don't feed them a lot but they are getting fat and they are mostly inside. My boy cat has long hair and gets fur balls so the doctor says to feed him c/d. I want to feed them something that has less fat, low ash, sodium, magnesium, phosphorus and I would rather have natural. Any suggestions to what food to feed them?
Thank you, :cat:

Wet food. Ditch any and all kibble and either find a decent low-carb (preferably grain-free) quality canned food like Wellness, Innova Evo 95%, Nature's Variety Instinct, or even better, look into a raw diet. Here's some info on feline nutrition that you might find interesting: www.catinfo.org

And after you're done that, more reading on why kibble makes cats fat:

It's not the fat you have to worry about, but the carbs. And C/D is a whopping 36% calories from carbs. The first 2 ingredients are rice and corn, making this food completely inappropriate for a carnivore. Have your cats had urinary tract issues in the past?

 is that the only reason the vet put him on the crystal diet?
