Can anyone help Wally?

A coworker of mine has approached me for help for her Mom. her mom is a senior who went to a byb for a puppy in August 08 in Sauble Beach. She told them she was looking for a small dog that would be easy to handle. They told her they had the perfect dog for her a JRT / Beagle Cross. She fell in love with one and brought him home.

Fast forward to today.

Wally is now 9 months old, all needles and vaccines up to date. he is neutered and apparently very much a people dog. He also has his city license just paid up for 1 yr.

My co-worker has indicated that Wally is a very well behave puppy but he is too big and strong for her mom. She is unable to walk him at all and I am assuming that part of the problem is the lack of training on a leash. She has decided it would be in Wally's best interest to find him a proper home.

Wally does not look like a JRT to me but most defiantely Beagle. He is around 50 pounds and loves people.

He is free to the right home. If there is someone out there that can help Wally please send me a pm and I will provide the contact info for you.

Oh winston he's so beautiful, it's such a shame she has to give him up. I also see Mostly Beagle in him, though I think 50lbs is a little heavy for the breed  . Could your co worker call a Beagle rescue group? maybe they have a waiting list with someone that would be a good fit for Wally ?

Good luck :grouphug: .

Hey Aslan....with Wally he was in my opinion an impulse. She thought he was cute and she did zero research. She is a senior and thought she would be getting a little JRT/Beagle Mix. She plans on getting s very small dog once she re homes Wally but will be getting some help with her choice this time. She is doing this more so for Wally because she just cannot walk him and as you can see he is not a small doggie.

She lives in Hamilton and considering her age I honestly dont think leash training would work.

Thanks for thinking of Wally though! :thumbs up

 love that smiley

I sure hope it works out Winston , this lady and her kids put so much time on getting informations before even looking to adopt , even putting money aside each month to make a "doggie trust fund". I think this is the best family for Wally ! :fingerscr

Bump Bump...Wally is still looking for his forever home! :thumbs up

He is UTD on all shots, neutered and just had his heartwoom test completed. Two people have come to see Wally but both have indicated he is too big. basically because his description is Beagle/JRT people think he is small but he is now 70lbs.

I think he is actually Beagle/Hound or something along those lines!

Did you contact the hound rescue in Ontario to ask them if they could courtey list him for you? Just a thought.

No I havent because I am only guessing on the hound part but maybe there is a beagle rescue? do breed specific rescues only take purebreds? kind of a silly question eh?

Winston, even breed specific will courtesy post. Some even bend the rules and take the dog. If you need other rescues to courtesty post I can ask all my contacts. Also another way is cross posting.

If he's 70lbs and under a year then he is definitely a hound not a beagle. I don't see one ounce of JRT in him. I really would try the hound rescue. http://www.adoptapet.com/shelter73190-pets.html

I see various dogs there and Wally looks much more handsome than several of them :thumbs up
