Nightime Purring/nawing

At night my kitten seems to have found its entertainment/happy time I dunno in harrassing me. First it was nawing my head (till I pushed him on the floor) now it is nawing my necklace and purring loudly. He burrows his head under my neck and just naws the necklace and purrs like crazy. I am not sure how to stop this behavior, the tossing onto the floor doesnt seem to work. On a side note anyone know if not mewing loudly is a bad thing. His meowing seems to be very muted. I adopted him from a vet/rescue kennel a week ago. I am in brazil. Not sure if these facts help but yeah.

It's 11:00am Monday morning and I'm having all sorts of trouble trying to stay awake. When you only get maybe 2 hours of sleep because your cats want to play all night... you won't be making that statement.

But it's kinda my fault. I always find cat toys on my bed, but instead of putting it off to the side, I start playing with the cats on the bed. I would hide a toy underneath the covers and they would try to pounce at it. This became a daily ritual and now my cats follow me to bed. Sometimes we play for hours. If I stop before they are done playing, they will meow and head butt me... and sometimes (like last night) they pounce on me in the middle of the night because in their minds: me + bed = play time.

hmmm I will try getting more energy out. it is just frustrating that he keeps going after the necklace. it was a gift from my mother of the virgin. I think I will just have to stop wearing it at night (usually wear it 24/7)

Jasper does that to me every night and I find it very soothing and comforting.

because in their minds: me + bed = play time.

If it's really becoming a problem try breaking the habit that your bed is a playground. Find some other area of your house that can be for playtime only (away from your room entirely) and eventually they will no longer associate your room with play time. Hope this helps!!
