Prayers for a missing girl

Cathy1
April 10th, 2009, 12:16 PM
She went missing Wednesday, April 8, 2009 around 3:30pm from Woodstock Ontario. She is a thin blond-haired eight year old that was last seen wearing a black Hannah Montana Jacket with a white fur-lined hood, a green shirt/sweater with pink lettering, a denim skirt, black leotards and black shoes. Her name is Victoria (Tori).

There is a video that shows her walking with a woman. There is a facebook group that has been started for her called Help Find Victoria Stafford.
What really upsets me is that they have not issued an Amber Alert.

I'm praying for her safe return.

 Get home safe little one and please fight, fight, fight to get away.

My thoughts and prayers to the family and this little girl. God Bless you all.

Why no damn Amber Alert???? What the heck.

This is the info on facebook. The police have not yet issued an amber alert, as there is no sign of abduction. However, police dogs were brought out yesterday, and the local authorities have been working diligently to find her.

But they have video showing her walking away with a woman. It looks like she knows her.

My prayers are with her family. Parents must teach their children to be street wise. Never get in the car or walk away with even someone they know. (Unless previously arranged by parents) They should scream and kick and make a scene. Many years ago my 5 year old son walked out of his nursery school and was walking alone on a busy street. No one noticed him missing? A nice family picked him up and brought him home, (since he remembered his address), but I was not there. So he told them where our neighbor lived, two doors down. They dropped him off there. This story could have had a sad ending.

 I am praying that this little girl is found safe and returned to her parents.

But....there are some odd facts about this....why no Amber Alert....it's been a couple of days since she disappeared. Also, the video (which I haven't seen apparently shows her walking with someone, no stress, no fear.....so what's up with that?????

Something just isn't right.....

I agree, something doesn't seem right. Even though the video is a bit blurry that little girl is walking right along with her like she knows her. I live just a few blocks from the missing girl and there have been police everywhere. I just don't understand about the Amber Alert, it should have been done when she first went missing.

I heard about her on the London country station Wed as was surprised there was no amber alert.

A parent's worst nightmare. I can't imagine what they are going through. Apparently there are so many people calling to volunteer to help that the police have asked people to stop calling. I pray she is returned home safely.

I pray that both these girls are found safe and return to their families. I was out walking the dogs lastnight and have never seen so many police officers. They are walking through empty lots, checking bushes and talking with alot of people.

I too pray for both these little girls...and the others out there who aren't home in their beds tonight.

As for Tori...I hate to say it, but I too sense something "fishy" about it...I guess I have seen too many stories like this one over the years...all with the same outcome involing the same people just different names...I am not going to elaborate as I know it is innappropriate and it is a time for prayer  , not pointing fingers...

What terribly tragic news.

An innocent child's life is taken by monsters...these despicable people don't deserve to live.

I can't believe what has happened. I live 3 blocks from the girl that abducted Tori and walked my dogs by there everyday. My heart goes out to the family. I just feel so sick that his could happen here. This is from the woodstock paper.

WOODSTOCK — Charges have been laid in the abduction and murder of eight-year-old Victoria “Tori” Stafford.

Two accused made brief court appearances in a Woodstock court this morning to be arraigned on charges relating to the police investigation that started when Stafford was reported missing on April 8.

Terri-Lynn McClintic, 18, is charged with abducting Stafford from her parents Tara McDonald and Rodney Stafford. She was also read charges of assisting Michael Thomas C. S. Rafferty in escaping the area.

Rafferty, 28, was also read charges of having abducted Stafford, and then, in Woodstock and elsewhere in Ontario, having murdered her. McClintic was read a third charge of having been an accessory to murder after the fact.

Security at the Oxford County Court House was high for the accused’s first appearance, as all members of the public entering the courtroom were searched with a metal detector. McClintic was read her charges first, appearing in the basement courtroom dressed all in black with her hair in braids. She remained composed as her charges were read.

Rafferty was visibly upset as he entered the courtroom, exchanging glances with his mother who was seated in the front row. Prior to the arrival of the justice of the peace, Rafferty broke down and began crying.

When he stood to have his charges read and was asked if he understood his charges, he said “yes” through tears.

McClintic is listed as a resident of Wilson Street, where a couple of Oxford Community Police Service cruisers were standing guard Wednesday. Rafferty is listed as a resident of Tennyson Street.

Both have been remanded in custody for a video appearance in Woodstock court on Thursday May 28. While McClintic was escorted out of the Oxford County Court House almost immediately, Rafferty was held in the building for several more hours as media continued to gather outside the prisoner-transfer area.

Neither has counsel and their application for legal aid is one of the reasons why the case has been held over.

It makes me think of the Holmolka situation with a woman luring the girl along.

It's sickening, it puts terror in my heart that this can happen to our children. My heart goes out to any family that is missing someone, it's unimaginable.
