The Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty of Animals is seeking adoptive parents for 100 rescued dogs.

The dogs, of mixed small breeds, were rescued from a suspected puppy mill before Christmas.

These dogs need parents and the organization has opened the adoption process to anyone with interest.

The dogs, including Bichons, Pekingese, Papillons and Lhasa Apso breeds, were found in a residence that did not provide adequate ventilation and showed a disregard for sanitation.

They have been treated and have recovered.

If convicted of criminal charges, two Grey-Bruce County residents could face a fine of $10,000, 18 months in jail and a ban from owning animals.

To find out more about the animals up for adoption contact the Ontario SPCA York Region Branch at 905-898-7122, ext. 306 or visit
