New Quebec government body to tackle pet cruelty

Hopefully this makes a beginning to the end of puppy milling in Quebec and all of Canada. Thank you to whoever started the petition which received over 50 000 signatures proving this is a issue the public does care about.

Finally some good news, hopefully things are REALLY changing here in Québec.

We will see. I heard the guy who is heading the project on the radio yesterday - an awful lot of talk of 'registered' breeders, none of inspections. Sounded a little bit like the gun registry (good in theory but...) He also took the time to praise Anima Quebec and said they would be working closely blah blah.
I suppose we should thank the SPC, the elusive org that sets up its table around town; I think it might have been their petition that got things moving.
What about cats? Left by the wayside again.
