Any place to take your dog swimming? (Toronto/Mississauga area)

Hello to all,

First post here so I hope this isn't a topic that's been covered to death.
My wife and I have a one year old yellow lab that we would love to take swimming. We live in the Mississauga area and were wondering if there were any places that are relatively close by that other owners feel comfortable bringing their dogs for a bit of water recreation.

If you know a place, please suggest.

Cheers :)

Try Cherry Beach in Toronto at the bottom of Cherry Street.

I live about a 15 min walk from Lake Ontario and dogs are always swimming and playing in the lake. It's at"Coronation Park"on Lakeshore road.
I am sure that you, living in Mississauga can just drive down to the lake,be prepared for the stink though, right now the beaches here in Oakville are covered in stinky algae.

That's what I'm trying to avoid.
I only wish there was less pollution in Lake Ontario (but then, who doesn't)

I take my dog to the lake in the Newcastle area and the water is a lot cleaner smelling this far east, a little far for you to drive I know, but it would likely be less ... ummm aromatic ;) if you drove a little farther west from the city as well.
