Hi in taking my new puppy to the vet today to get her shots she is 10 months old boston terrier and has never had any of her shots the reason im asking is i saw in a post where the vet gave to many shots to that poor kitten now im worried as to what to ask for  Should i let the vet just do as he wants or can i just ask for the ones that she only needs and what would those be? she is very healthy but does go out side from time to time so im sure i want the rabbie shot. Any ideals? Please write soon

No shots ever? Your puppy is lucky!
She needs to be vaccinated against:
Parvovirus, canine distemper, "kennel cough", hepatitis, leptospirosis, and rabies.
If you live in an area where there are mosquitoes, she needs to be tested for heartworm and given a preventative.
Has she ever been dewormed? If not, take a stool sample with you for analysis.

How do you know the pup never had shots???? If you just got the pup???
I'd ask for a titer test to be done to see if the dog has any antibodies for any of the vaccinations listed above so as not to over vaccinate. Over vaccination can be just as harmful as the diseases themselves, making the dogs very sick.
