I've never done black and white before, and I really liked the way they turned out, I just need to figure out the depth settings and stuff. I'm having fun learning tho, but the manual is a little hard to understand, does anyone know if there's a Photography for Dummies book out there??:laughing:

I'm using a Canon EOS 400 Rebel XTi, and I am using a Canon speedlite 430EX flash that my hubby got me for Christmas, which I like more than the flash that the camera is equipped with. I also have a 300mm zoom lens, which came with the camera, I found it to be the most economical because the zoom was included.

I will be on the hunt for Photography for Dummies!:o...:laughing:

I guess there weren't as many as I thought because I had to come back and look at them again!!! They're so great.

I seen the book at Coles.and the guy that wrote the field quide book for the D80 also does one for your camera.his name is David D.Busch and it goes through what the manual says with out bouncing all over the place for the info.it has really helped me to get to know my camera and settings,controls.it was $23.99 CAN and well worth it.

I did not realize Abby only had 3 legs??

Yep, Abby is a tripod! She had a broken leg which was operated on before coming into the rescue, but it didn't take and her elbow separated and she developed severe arthritis so it was determined that it needed to be amputated. She runs faster than all her 4 legged siblings, she is more agile then them as well, having 3 legs doesn't slow her down one bit! She is a daredevil and it scares me at times.

It's such a great camera, and I'm just starting to venture off the "auto setting" lol...maybe we can share info as we learn more on how to operate our camera's! I also have a Fuji digital, which I love too. In another post I mentioned a flash that my husband bought me for christmas, it makes a world of difference, it might be something you want to consider.

Just play with it and have lots of fun.:thumbs up.

angeldogs, haven't taken any pics in the last few days, hopefully I'll find some time to play "shutterbug" over the weekend.
Yesterday my middle son missed his ride to work, so I had to drive him out to a place called Black Diamond, (an hr+ drive), I piled the dogs into the backseat so they could go with us. When we got there I regretted not taking my camera, it's so beautiful out there I could've taken pics all days of my dogs in the Foothills with the beautiful mountains in the back drop.
I will be making a trip out there soon just to get pics.

Thats sound great.don't you just hate that not having a camera on you.there are many times at work i wish i had it but you can't always find a place to park a truck.
Will be looking forward to the pics.
