why it takes a long time to get ready for a walk in the country with a lab

Brina was trained not to harm critters...of any kind, but that doesn't mean she won't bark and chase them. Sunday it was soooo sunny we decided a bush walk was in order (out behind our home)...we had her all ready but checked first for wildlife.

first the deer........and of course we had to take pics of it all.

then the turkeys decided to have a feed.....by this time Brina was flipping out and ready to run....

then suddenly, out of the blue, a peregrine falcon....never has one landed so close to the house, I'm sorry that you can also see it's meal, he stayed for a good 1/2 hour.......Brina was foaming at this point

first the deer...

Awww :cloud9:. I keep looking out for ones over here but haven't seen any yet .

"no one told me cattails explode!!!!"

She does look pretty smug about it though, "I get to hunt cattails :D." Brina's such a pretty girl :lovestruck: and you've got a great 'yard' for her adventures.

Love the cattail beard! :lovestruck: I like the shot of her running toward the camera, too.

Sure does look like a lovely place to run! Is that a frozen pond?

Wow, those are wonderful pics :cloud9:. The wildlife is beautiful but nothing matches that joy and happiness on a crazy zooming labrador :cloud9:.

Hazel, its not a frozen pond, they dredged the 5 acres to prepare for a subdivision, so they dug down to the clay and will use the base for "fill" to bring the land up to the proper height, in 6 yrs it will be ready to build on:frustrated: there are 5 of those "ponds" all connected so we have lots of room to run.......when the subdivision goes up it will be time to sell our land and get out *L*

thanks all for the compliments

That's too bad you are going to loose that area to a subdivision , looks like a wonderful place to walk Brina.

What great shots. Love the bearded lab photo too. Brina you're such a lucky and patient girl. So sad about the subdivision though:sad:
