December 27th, 2008, 08:17 AM
Just a few shots of some of my outdoor pets:lovestruck:

December 27th, 2008, 08:19 AM
A couple more...

December 27th, 2008, 08:31 AM
I like them!

December 27th, 2008, 09:28 AM
Oh how adorable.
We don't have many squirrels around the house here for some reason, just lots of chipmunks
who are just as cute.
They drive Meiko nuts outside. He will stand in front of the tree he saw them run up for HOURS ON END thinking its still up there.
He has no concept that it jumped branches and now is 2 miles down the road.

 Yeah, we have a lot of that insanity going on here, too, erykah! I'm not sure if they're utterly fooled or if it's just wishful thinking... :dog:

chico...some of those squirrels look almost black! Do you have a cluster of black squirrels there? In Eau Claire, where we used to live, there were white ones around our house and a few miles down the road there was a cluster population of black ones living at a park. It's always so much fun to see the oddly-colored ones. :cloud9:

omg rats with fluffy tails

 I like the whites behind one's ears , he's less scary than the black one :p

I love squirrels! There's one that sometimes makes an appearance on the palm tree outside my window. The gang loves watching them.

Now I have mostly grey ones and about 1/2 dozen all black, the white fluff on their ears, they get in the winter and a really thick coat, which makes them look fat.
Hubby says, like Frenchy, they are big rats with a fluffy tail:laughing:but he still feeds them, right out of his hands:shrug:
The cats are so used to them, they don't even bother anymore..but Bailey loves chasing them.
The three babies I had are getting really big, fully capable of looking after themselves,at least at my house:laughing:
AG,I have a hard time picturing a squirrel in a palm-tree,but I guess they are everywhere.

I have never seen a white Squirrel, but I remember a member here showing us one, beautiful!!
I also have a pair of red squirrels, sooo tiny, incredibly fast and soo cute.
OH,and I love little Chipmunks,don't have many though:sad:

December 27th, 2008, 04:01 PM
 I'll try to get a picture next time I can catch one there.

December 27th, 2008, 04:25 PM
AG,I take that as a promise:laughing:
When we were in South Carolina,I never saw any Squirrels, just moles and we fed the chips:laughing:

December 27th, 2008, 04:28 PM
 Some very well fed outside pets. :thumbs up

Chico, my best friends in-laws spend most of the year in a house they built in South Carolina, or North Carolina, one of the Carolina's. A couple of years ago they spend an Easter over there and she sent me this picture. I loved it so much I've kept it.

I just thought he was the cutest little guy. Just sitting there having his breakfast, not a care in the world.

December 27th, 2008, 04:49 PM
some people love 'em, some people hate 'em.... no matter what, I think they's kinda cute :lovestruck:

December 27th, 2008, 04:54 PM
AG,I had a Squirrel for 3 yrs,who was totally tame, would even come up on my lap,I named her FiFi and she knew her name, here is a pic of her:rip:FiFi
That pic is really cute:lovestruck:

December 27th, 2008, 05:10 PM
Aww, Chico, she was adorable. When I was little I wanted a squirrel as a pet. If I ever have my own place, I'm going to put feedings stations all over my yard for them.

December 27th, 2008, 06:31 PM
Lucky squirrels! They're very cute :lovestruck:

December 27th, 2008, 08:37 PM
No squirrels here in town. Thanks for sharing yours!:lovestruck:

December 27th, 2008, 08:40 PM
And very nice outdoor pets they are too. :thumbs up :cloud9: We don't get squirrels around here either. Sammy chases them away.

December 27th, 2008, 09:06 PM
They are some nice outdoor pets.ours are mostly black and some chipmunks who love to drive Jag nuts by running along the fence.and some ducks, rabbits, raccons and skunks.

Your squirrels sure are lucky

December 27th, 2008, 11:15 PM
Oh, awesome pics, Chico!!! I know a lot of people hate them, but I love squirrels! :lovestruck:

December 28th, 2008, 04:15 AM
Those squirrels are cute. We don't have any around here, but I'm not complaining as they'd do a lot of damage in my garden.

We have chipmunks which I don't mind, cute little fur critters. One year we had 11 of them as momma had babies. LOL

December 28th, 2008, 07:54 AM
AG,one day you will have your own home with a yard,I am sure and then you can have your very own menagerie:fingerscr
I am super worried right now,we have a terrible of the Squirrels-nests are down and I am hoping a big one where the 3 babies live with their mom can withstand this:pray:

December 28th, 2008, 08:00 AM
I do hope the big nest stays up in the tree.i know the Oakville area can get some real strong wind storms.

December 28th, 2008, 08:12 AM
It's still there,way,way up in a tall tree:pray:
It looks like the wind is dying down a little.
My big Blue Spruce in the front was bending, scary stuff:yell:

December 28th, 2008, 10:35 AM
I used to like them. We had one at the cottage when I was a kid , we named him "Ti-Bi" :p my father would feed him all the time , even let him inside the cottage once (mom freaked out and said Ti-Bi was not allowed in the house )

when I was about 12 yr old , I went cross country skiing with friends and we came across a bunch of them , we got our granola bars out to feed them , of course , me being :loser: tried to hand feed them , and it worked !!! But I guess the granola bar wasn't enough for one of them and it decided to eat my hand :yell: needed to go to the clinic and get a tetanos shot ... ouch

December 28th, 2008, 10:50 AM
Ouch Frenchy:laughing:
I don't try to tame any of the Squirrels, they are wild,I just feed them and we enjoy watching them.
FiFi was a different story, she was not afraid of the cats,so I used to call her name and she would come to the front for her peanuts, safe from the cats.

December 28th, 2008, 09:32 PM
When i was about 8 years old we had this chipmunk that used to live under the back part of the house we called it the barn as it looked like one.anyways my mom called it Jimmy and only for her would it come and take peanuts out of her hand or peanut butter off her hand or foot.this went on for years till he got a mate and moved out from under the barn.
