Random winter activities at Hazel Run

No real story....just some pictures.

A sight better than any Christmas present under the tree:
Ms Muddy Mossy Messy Macie back on her feet and raising havoc with her Packmates.

For some unfathomable reason, barking in Grace's face really turns Ms Macie on :dog:

45729 45730

And all the noise attracts the attention of Princess Lil Belle, who comes over to join in the fun...

45731

hazelrunpack
December 24th, 2008, 11:04 PM
As Ms Macie continues to bark, Grace tries a body block on Lil Belle...
45732
...but Lil Belle is like the immovable mass and Grace is no irresistible force. So whoopsie!! :o

"Okay, then! I'm outta here!"
45733

Notice that Ms Macie is still barking. :D

Later, things get really exciting--the Hazel Run Mama brings out the leaf hauler for a little sledding. The leaf hauler is really slow...even when the leaf hauler sledding run is fast. :D The dogs typically run circles around the HRM as she's sliding down the hill almost faster than she can walk down.

Brier had escort duty this afternoon...first leading the leaf hauler down the hill...
45736
...almost to the bottom of the run where he turns back...
45735
...runs up the hill and circles back around the leaf hauler yet again.
45734
"Mom! What's taking you so long!?!

That expression on Brier's face just cracks me up!

Ohh yes!!!! Waiting for their toys too tear to shreads!!! lol. I have the Santa tracker on for my 6 year old trying to con her to sleep!!! She is too excited. but the Santa tracker shows Santa comeing towards Ontario so she is making a honest effort to get to sleep.

It was very nice to see Ms Macie back in the thick of things--for a few days there, she was definitely not feeling up to snuff. Amazing how quickly doxycycline puts them to rights again. :o

You bet it is  I couldn't make it out in the first pic , I saw an ear but couldn't make out a face  they look so comfy :cloud9:

The pack always seem to have meetings before their play time attacks

hazelrunpack
December 27th, 2008, 11:08 AM
They're plotting out their strategy. :D I can't tell if Lil Belle is just utterly irresistible or if she volunteers to be the attackee all the time...if she's outside, she's almost always the first target. :dog:

Belle sure showed those boys who's boss!

hazelrunpack
December 27th, 2008, 11:46 AM
Sometimes I swear that's exactly what they're doing, Frenchy. Cole will often "volunteer" to "be popular" because it gives him a chance to put Brier in his place...once he's repelled an attack by Brier and trounced him a couple of times, he goes back to playing with the rest of the Pack with a joyous spring in his step!

Belle sure showed those boys who's boss!

Lil Belle is such a tomboy that she's often called "our fourth boy" :D They love to rough-house with her.

MMMMM and Cole are both on the mend...now it looks like Cass may need some meds, too.

Oh shoot! I knew there was another one (or two) that weren't feeling up to par. Sorry, with Christmas and all it's been a bit hectic. No excuse I know. :o

I am starting to gather a few things. When I have to worm them I usually just get a bunch of pills from the vets, weigh the kitties so I know how much of a pill to give, and then write down who got what when and when they need the second dose. It's an experience! I like to do the catty cats one day and then the indoor ones the next so it's not all one day of getting my hands ripped to shreds. Not looking forward to having to pill KMcC at all!

Love the 3rd pic in the 1st post w/Lil Belle & Gracie facing off & Macie still barking at her. So nice to see Macie back to her old self :lovestruck:

The last pic of Brier in post 3 is too funny

and the last pic in post 18 - Lil Belle all teethies  I love how little tiny Gracie is always leading/in the middle of the attacks :dog:

Ridge & Cass all snuggled is just precious, so cute how those 2 are always together :cloud9: Ridgey's got nice big fuzzy feeties :cloud9:

hazelrunpack
December 28th, 2008, 12:34 AM
I tried to get some more sledding pics before the snow got too sticky with the thaw, but it was too gloomy. It's so funny, though, the way they circle around in front of the leaf hauler and prance on the sled run, in danger of being run over, leaping clear at the very last second! You can tell they really think the leaf hauler is the dumbest thing they've ever seen Mom sit in... :o

As for the sleepy pile-up...Ridge is just not happy unless she's squishing someone else  This, of course, does not necessarily make the squishee happy... :p

Love the new pics! Brier with his goofiness is simply adorable! :cloud9: Reminds me of Keesha when she was younger. Not so much these days though.

Geez, Geri! I sure don't expect you to keep track of my 8!! I can't even imagine how you keep track of all of yours!

It really isn't hard to keep track of mine. I just make sure I write it down so I know who got pilled, who didn't.

I take it KMcC doesn't take kindly to pilling :o Have you ever considered mail gloves? :D

KMcC was really good when Kelly and I took him to her vet. The vet pilled him no problem. But then KMcC was an angel at the vet. It's only here he is cranky! I get a few good pets and scratches in and he is swatting, claws out. He is at the point he is showing me his belly and I can give it a few scritches too but not for long.

hazelrunpack
December 28th, 2008, 10:33 PM
KMcC likes the vet?!? Silly boy!

Yeah, silly boy! I think all the women around him did it.
I don't know. He's been here for quite a while now and it's taking a long time for him to warm up. Of course he's been moved quite often in those months so that might be adding to his confusion. I am hoping he settles in.
Sorry, off topic. :o

Oh no! Pressure!!! I am not sure. My camera does not like the cold. I have taken it out a few times but after a couple of pics it freezes up. I did get a pic of the "spare cat" the other day but that was through my kitchen window. Not even sure if it's close enough it will show up.

hazelrunpack

No, he's not a full-time super goof, angeldogs. Sometimes he's asleep. :o

Actually, he's still sort of a pup--just over 2 years of age and for setters 3 is the age of sanity. :D He's a little behind...his first 6 months he was in a bad situation and has been making up for his lost puppyhood ever since. I think he's finally exiting his 'paper phase' and moving rapidly through his 'if I can reach it, I can eat it' phase. Sanity usually follows, but with Brier, we'll have to wait and see if he decides to throw in yet another 'phase' :D

Brier usually hogs the gate--when I unlatch it, he pulls it back with his paw to make it hurry up  I make sure to stand between the house and the gate so I don't get swept away by the ensuing current of dog! :o I've been working on the 'stay' but their first trip down off the deck in the morning appears to be a lost cause for that! They dream all night of squirrels and birds and bunnies in the yard--they just have to rush down there to see if they're really there! :p

Cardboard boxes flatten do too, and so do garbage bads! :D

I'd need a pretty big flattened box to accommodate madame hazel's capacious derriere :o and I think it's too bumpy to use bags--need something a little more solid between me and all the paw holes in the sled run! :p So I'll stick with my luxury leaf hauler...the best of both worlds.
