E-Mail Graphics

I need to send out a Christmas invitation via email this afternoon. Problem is,
for the people who have hotmail or yahoo address, the graphics don't appear.
Why is that and how do I get around that.

Also, does anyone know where I can get a boarder of candy canes or Christmas lights to put on my email?
