Wow great pics, what are the odds that you'd be there with your camera right then! What a brave momma squirrel. Was everyone okay??

If anyone's ever done squirrel rescue/rehab, you know how nasty they can be when they're on the defensive...I've been bitten by fox, skunks, raccoons, groundhogs, you name it...the only critter that ever left a scar and permanent numbness was an adult grey squirrel ( squirrely nutter)...they mean business!!! That dog never stood a chance!

I hope the baby was ok,I showed pics of a very unafraid little baby-squirrel with my Vinnie, the funny thing is the babies(now 3)are very alert now and take off.
Mom must have told them cats are bad:laughing:

Judging by it's postures, it doesn't look like the dog was going to hurt the baby squirrel . Mama wasn't taking any chances though, lol.
