Hold Carole Lepalme Accountable for alleged Animal Cruelty
Target: Quebec Criminal Court System
Sponsored by: Boxer Rescue Quebec

Carole Lepalme, an alleged Quebec puppy mill owner should be made legally
accountable for breaking the law, under animal cruelty.

*** In September 2008, Ms. Lepalme had 157 dogs removed from her care by the Montreal SPCA on the grounds of animal cruelty. All 157 dogs took residence in one house where they were packed in crates, dog runs and wire cages. They were found extremely malnourished, dehydrated, over bred, infested with worms, untreated open wounds on their bodies and some were even found dead on site.

We have started this petition because Carole Lapalme, the alleged puppy mill owner, will be back in criminal court December 17th, 2008 and is pleading not guilty to animal cruelty. Carole Lepalme is requesting that the dogs be returned to her. Something has to be done to stop these dogs from being put back under the care of this person. Quebec is known as the animal cruelty capital of North America, and is the home of over 2000 puppy mills. You can make a difference, do not let these helpless animals return to a desolate life without care, food, space, companionship or freedom.

* We the undersigned demand that Carole Lapalme be held accountable for her alleged actions and that none of her 157 dogs be returned to her care.

If the courts award the dogs back to the breeder then the rescue may have no choice. The only thing that can be done is a request to purchase the dogs however since rescues are not subsidized by the government and have already incurred probably an enormous amount of $$ on medical obviously depleating their cash flow.

Very sticky situation. My best to Boxer Rescue for a job well done in taking in these poor souls and providing them with all that is necessary. Hats off!

Very important - I need to mention our protest December 17th!! We need everyone's support on this day while Carole Lepalme is in court - we will be protesting at the courthouse. We will be demanding that the court hold her accountable for her actions and that she be denied the right to reclaim these dogs. Take part and make a difference - we need to show up in numbers for the higher ups to hear us.

When: Wednesday, December 17th, 2008 at 9:00am sharp. ( 3 hours max)

Where: On the steps of the Palaise de Justice.

1 rue Notre Dame East, Montreal.

( between Champ-de-Mars & Place-DArmes Metro Stations)

These animals are our priority; let us not loose sight of our commitment to save them.

See our site (http://www.notocruelty.com/protest.cfm) for more info and updates on the protest.
