Love the snowy-face one!

Looks like it was still snowing there?...how much did you end up getting?

Yeah it was still snowing a bit then, and we got a bit more today but not that much. I don't really know how much in inches or cm, but with the ground still being soft and muddy underneath it was not enough for my dogsled yet too much for my training rig, so no training run for us that I had planned with a friend :wall: I've discovered the hard way that bicycle brakes don't work when they get too much wet snow sticking to them. Luckily I only had 2 dogs hooked to the rig at the time and Lightning knows "Easy" and "Whoa". :thumbs up

Oy! That sounds like it was an 'eventful' ride! :o

With luck, the snow will start to mount up now so you can break out the dogsled for the year! :thumbs up I'm still waiting for our first 'permanent' snow. We've had some minor accumulations, but they melt off in a day or two. :frustrated: For some reason the cold doesn't bother me nearly as much when there's a good snow to enjoy at the same time. :D

Well, I lived to tell the tale and didn't even crash (at least not due to the brakes!) I did come across a couple of trees down across the trail I was on and when I was off the rig and trying to get around one we got a stick in the spokes which tipped the rig.

Besides being fun for the dogs to play in and clean and bright often when there's snow it's a drier kind of cold. I really dislike the cold damp fall weather that you get sometimes. Those awful grey rainy days when it's cold just chill me. If it's a grey damp kind of day I find the worst is between about +10C to -10C (54F to 14F). I'd rather have it down around -15 to -20C (about 5F to 0F) on a nice sunny day.

I hope so but we need more snow. The mornings and evenings were cool enough to start training with the dryland rig back in August but I haven't yet had the sled out. This snow just came the other day overtop of yucky mud and I don't want to ruin the runners on my sled. It needs to freeze up and and get more snow and then I can start grooming my trail into a good base for the sled. With the rig though I took my 4-dog team out for a 6 mile run a week ago.
