hazelrunpack November 15th, 2008, 03:22 PM Cute pics! They do love their carrots, don't they? :cloud9:
Chaser November 15th, 2008, 04:57 PM Heehee....that's so cute! :lovestruck: My two get their own bag of carrots every time I go shopping - they go nuts for them :D
Gail P November 15th, 2008, 08:04 PM My guys will come and sit all around me in the kitchen when I start peeling carrots. They know that sound very well and want to claim the peels before I put them away to save for the chickens. They love anything that I give them from the garden - beans, peas, cucumbers and of course carrots. The garden is right behind the backyard so they're always happy for me to hand stuff through the fence to them.

Do they help you pick from your garden too? Bet they would be good helpers.
Gail P November 15th, 2008, 09:09 PM They'd be a little too good, I wouldn't have anything left! Last year the snow came early and I still had carrots in the garden. I ended up digging them up from under about a foot of snow. The dogs enjoyed helping me with that. There I was finding carrots and throwing them in a bucket and the dogs were helping themselves both from the bucket and by digging. Same thing may happen again this year, I still have one row of carrots in the ground. I leave them as long as possible so they're nice and fresh. I've even heard of people keeping a winter garden of root vegetables, mulching over them and then just digging them up as needed during the winter.

:laughing: knew they would be good helpers in the garden.
BTW, nice to see a young lady munching on healthy treats and a book in her hands rather than one of those game thingies or cell phone :thumbs up
growler~GateKeeper November 15th, 2008, 11:38 PM :D The carrot dance  Did they all get carrots for their effort :dog:
babymomma November 16th, 2008, 07:07 AM Aww how cute :flirt: teehee, keely loves carrots too!
Chases_mom- Keely gets her own bag of (baby) Carrots as well :P
Dog Dancer November 16th, 2008, 11:57 AM My old dog loved carrots, these two not so much. Halo will only eat them if they're cooked and Shadow looks at me like I'm a moron if I try to feed them to her! I'm with L4H, nice to see your daughter eating healthy and reading. Job well done mom.
ancientgirl November 16th, 2008, 01:16 PM Awww, did they ever get some carrots?
erykah1310 November 16th, 2008, 01:35 PM BTW, nice to see a young lady munching on healthy treats and a book in her hands rather than one of those game thingies or cell phone :thumbs up

Great pics, my guys don't like carrots at all. I wish they did
Gail P November 16th, 2008, 03:59 PM Yes the dogs all did get their share of the carrots :) Maria loves to read, so much that sometimes I have to tell her to put the books away (eg. bedtime, or if she's reading while supposed to be eating breakfast and "forgets" to actually eat - don't want her to miss the schoolbus!) I was like that myself, always loved to read. Don't get me wrong, she likes TV and video games too but lots of the TV programs she enjoys best are educational ones and Animal Planet.
ancientgirl November 16th, 2008, 05:12 PM That's great to hear she loves to read. My niece and nephew hate to read. They just don't know what they're missing.
