I don't usually get too many pictures of Noah. He seems to always be cutting across shots and I end up with his butt only, or he's got a really goofy look on his face or something. In this one something had his interest for sure. There may have been wild turkeys in the bush, the other day I counted at least 6 but there may have been more, I couldn't get a clear look at them through the trees.
I just realized that his tail looks kind of funny in this picture, like it's a big pom-pom. He's got it curved over so you can't see the whole thing, the white tip and the rest of it is hidden behind all the fluff.

Yeah he was great for snuggling up with when I used to camp in the fall (when I'd wake up to find the tent covered in frost and ice in my wash basin!). Haven't done that in a few years, between trying to figure out how to fit 7 dogs plus us in the tent and the coyotes howling practically outside our back door some nights! We have a little campsite up in the bush on our property that I'd like to start using again though. Too many animals, too many chores to go away camping but our little campsite is a nice experience for our daughter.

What a beauty. I had a collie for 15 years - grew up with him and he was such a character.

Here are a couple more. He doesn't usually have the pink above his nose, he must have scraped it on something a couple of weeks ago but it's healing up now and the pigment is beginning to come back. Also he's got a cataract on the lens of his right eye so sometimes that eye looks a little different in close up shots. He doesn't always keep it quite as wide open as the other. It was an odd thing really, he got an abcess behind the eye (which the vet had to drain by putting a needle down behind the eye to draw the fluid out ). That seemed to be healing up nicely when I noticed what looked like a cataract deep inside his eye. Was referred to a veterinary opthamologist (sp?) who checked both his eyes. Anyways, long story short, that eye isn't quite right but he's not totally blind in it and it doesn't bother him.

He's a handsome boy for sure! Definitely need to convince him to pose for more pictures. :flirt: I love collies...must be a hold-over from my Lassie-infatuation when I was a kid. :o

Too bad I don't have any pics of my two old girls, Dawn and Sweetie, on the computer to show you. (I'd have to dig up old pics and scan them). Sweetie was very loveable but a bit of a gangly goofy looking dog though Dawn was a real looker. Very fine pointy face and small prick ears with masses of coat! Noah has tons of coat but his is really only what I'd call medium length (for a collie), with lots of undercoat that makes it thick and bushy. Dawn had plenty of undercoat but very very long outer hairs as well. She looked like she had a long white beard and she had lots of feathering on both the front and back legs. In truth her coat was more what you'd expect to see on a male than a female collie and her markings were really nice too. White all the way up her front legs, big white tip on her tail and a wide white collar at the neck. Very pretty girl. Dawn and Sweetie were half-sisters and were my first collies. Dawn's mom's name was Lassie (who was also Sweetie's grandmother). Their dad's name was Laddie. Actually Dawn and Sweetie were related in 2 ways, without being inbred. Sharing the same father made them half-sisters, but Sweetie's mom Tasha was from a previous Lassie breeding, so Dawn was also Sweetie's aunt, if that makes sense.

Here's one more picture of Noah. It's an older one but one of the best shots I've got of him so it's worth posting again I think. I didn't take it myself but I love this picture of him.

Growing up one of our neighbours had a Collie who loved to come over & play w/our Sibe - total zoomie fest around the yard :cloud9:

You can sprinkle a pinch or two of powdered Kelp on his food to speed up the repigmentation of his nose - an old trick passed on from our :rip: Sibes breeder ;)
