my 20 year old cat "Notoes" has very dry skin and sheds alot (I brush him alot too!)...we got him some skin and coat conditioner that you put in his food and he doesn't appreciate changes to his food...because he has no toes on his hind legs he finds it VERY hard to scratch and is constantly licking, when he's not sleeping! is there anything we can give him (that he will like) that will ease his itching. He is an indoor cat and does not associate with any other animals - just us humans!! Please help. Thanks. Notoes :cat:

Dry skin and scratching are often diet related. What are you feeding him?
Also, has your vet done any bloodwork or urine tests as it could also be thyroid or kidney problems.

I am not sure if it's the same for dogs as cats. But my dog has itching. We had to change her food and give her Benadryl.
Did you recently move to a new area?

I know how difficult it is to make changes to a senior kitty, lol. Has the vet given any indication of what might be causing it?
Just out of curiousity, what food are you currently feeding your kitty?
