Agility Fun Day Trial Pics/Videos

October 19th, 2008, 05:44 PM
Today I went out with the dogs to a Fun Day Trial, they hosted Dock Dogs, Agility, and Puppy Recall Races. I entered Cody in the Novice Division for Agility, and Nova in the Recalls. It was a great day for us!

Heres me and my sister waiting around for the agility results

To start off, Nova came in 1st place in the recall challenge. We had to do three different recalls - Restrained, Run with our pup, and also run out and have them released when your about half-way. The distance was 50 feet, and Nova had a total cumulative time of 6.1 seconds for 3 runs. I'm very proud of her, she was focused and fast, and did great! (Even more impressive is the fact that me running didn't slow us down too much )

I don't have any photos of our run, but since I do have some recent photos of her, heres one to enjoy :D

Cody also did very well, I have the videos uploaded to my Flickr account, so I'll post the links. The only issue we had today was that Cody is food motivated, and some of the people had been tossing food into the tunnels to get their dogs to go through. The food was still around, so Cody kept spending his time at the tunnels trying to find/eat it. Other than that, and him running in front of me about three times, I think we did great! This was Cody's first time ever doing agility outside my home practicing. My sister also did the recording, and forgot to move the camera to follow the dog a few times

Heres two pictures taken from the videos

Here's run #1 - 40.00 seconds

Here's run #2 - 37.62 seconds

Cody came in 1st place in the Novice division, and got a cute little tug/squeak toy. I'm very proud of my dogs today, I've never brought either of them to a fun trial before, so it was a great experience and I hope to do it again!

Awesome job for both Nova & Cody :pawprint: give those pups a treat from me :D

Superfast Nova! :lovestruck: Spatx great job on her recall work :highfive:

Cody :lovestruck: was having lots of fun out there  he didn't want to go in the blue tunnel cuz he could smell there was no food left in there :D

Next time they should have a couple of dogs go in to clean out the treats so not to distract other dogs :D

That's a really great shot of Nova very clear focus on her face & everything else soft blurred :cloud9:

There were a few smaller dogs, the ones I remember were a Jack Russell, Cocker Spaniel, and Min. Poodle. The club that hosted was the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever - so the majority of the dogs were of that breed. I felt like a bit of an odd-ball not having a Toller.
