I have a 1 year old female cat and 2 weeks ago i adopted small kitten from the street. I saw that the small kitten had something like dandruff and small pimples on his ears. It spreaded it to my cat and my cats fur around her ears is falling off, not completely but still it is obvious. Me and my husband got also some pimples on our bodies. The kitten also has yellow worms that are comming out when he poops and they are tearing apart on pieces very easily. Can youi please give em any advice. I am bringing them to the vet and while i do that I would appreciate if you give me more information. Can I get it from the cat aslo?.. i mean the worms..

Thank you for rescuing that poor little kitten. :grouphug:
You are doing the best thing you can for your kitty by taking it to the vet :thumbs up. Not sure what the worms are so I can't offer any advice. Keep your hands washed and your two kitties isolated until you get your kitten checked by your vet.

Welcome to pets.ca ! sorry for the horrible circumstances!
First off both to the vet!! To me it sounds like 2 problems....The segmented worm sounds like a tapeworm which the vet can give you the proper meds...Dont try the ones from the store unless you know for sure what type of worm your dealing with...
The second problem sounds like mites...I cant remember for sure but I think they call the sarcoptic mites! As you already know contagious.for other cats ...I dont know if humans catch that or not....I have heard of feline scabies being contagious??
THe vet will be able to help you kittys for sure! PLease let us know how you make out!
Oh what are the kittens names?

Mites and tape worms. There probably are different kinds of tape worms though that's the only thing. The problem is with it spreading to you guys that's obviously not good. It could be anything like mange or a fungus or just really anything. Unless we could see pictures of said bumps on the kitties and the worms we really can only take a wild guess. Make sure to get a dr. appt for yourselves to get the proper medication to clear what you caught from them. It could be flea bites as well.

Thanks for rescuing this baby, they don't have a chance out there. Please just get him to the vet as soon as possible. I would not use any medications that are for sale in pet stores, they are a waste of money and may be poisonous for such a young animal.
I agree with those who recommend he be kept separate from your other cat - with his own litterbox, very important - until he has a clean bill of health. There's plenty of time for them to get acquainted. I would also wash any bedding in hot soapy water.
