I thought you guys might want to see Czarina and Maks. I don't know if she will ever let down her guard with the others as she does with Maks. I know they go through changed of dynamics and alliances but for now, I'm happy she's found a little friend in Maks.

Maks is a special little guy. Yes, I was a little afraid at first that she might hurt him, but he can handle his own with her. LOL, after that last picture the fighting got a little rough but no damage. He came back a little later and rubbed his face against her.
I think she feels he's less threatening than the others, so he's been able to get closer to her. I'm glad because there are times when they place chasing each other. So she's enjoying some fun in her life now. She's really come a long way. I've been cutting the Prozac from once a day to every other day. The vet originally said we should keep her on it for about 4 to 6 months and then slowly ween her off of it. I began giving it to her in May and I think she's progressed very well so that I can now begin easing her off of it. I never wanted Prozac to be a permanent thing for her, I just wanted it to be something to help ease her into feeling safe and comfortable here. I think she's feeling that now.

That's so wonderful to see. Good to hear you think you can start to wean her off the meds too.

Yes, at this point I don't think she needs them as much as she did in the beginning. She's been out of solitary completely for about a month now I think and I think she's as comfortable right now as she's going to get on the medication, so getting her off so she can learn to be this way off medication is my next step. They all seem to have a better feel for each other so this is a good time.

A-G,this is just fantastic,I honestly did not think we would see that kind of closeness any time soon, you must be soooo proud of yourself and Czarina, little Maks to of course:lovestruck:

Chico, I just gave her a roof over her head, plenty of food, security and love. She did the rest. I'm proud of her for being brave enough to explore and get out of her comfort zone, and I'm proud of Maks for doing the same.

Now how cute is that?!?! :cloud9::lovestruck: Maybe it's something about an orange cat? I know Fagan is the only one here that everyone likes.... even Smoke! I can't get over her progress.... and now with Maks as her little companion... she has definitely got it made at your house! :thumbs up

These orange little guys are something else huh? I'm very happy she at least feel comfortable with one of the gang. LOL, Kiska thumps her on the head every chance she gets, and boy does Czari get pissed. Those girls:rolleyes: Oksana just avoids her all together, and Vlad, he wants to make friends but he can sometimes be a bit of a brute. He's not sure why other cats don't like to be pounced on.

I gave up on her once, I couldn't do it again. I'm glad I gave it another try.
October 6th, 2008, 06:18 PM
Oh stop it this is tooo much cuteness... I actually got a tear in my eye there when I saw them sleeping together!!! :lovestruck::cloud9: She is so much better off with you and I'm just soooo soooo happy all your patience has paid off! :thumbs up:grouphug:
October 6th, 2008, 06:31 PM
Okay, I don't have any more pictures anyway.:D You should have seen them yesterday. Maks managed to get a little closer to her. She might only feel comfortable this way, but that's fine. The mere fact he's so close to her and she's sleeping is great.
I'm happy it's paid off too. I knew it would take time, and I was better prepared this time around. I think she was too.
October 11th, 2008, 04:24 AM
AMAZING !!! It's so awesome to see them getting along so well. :cloud9:
October 11th, 2008, 05:55 AM
Rainbow, I'm very happy she's accustomed herself to being around the others. Having her play with Maks is wonderful to me.
October 11th, 2008, 04:52 PM
Aw,that's so sweet!!! Czarina and Maks, sitting in the tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G! :cloud9: How cool is that! She's come so far, AG!
October 11th, 2008, 05:28 PM
She's progressing daily too.:D I'm trying to get her off the Prozac. I just give them to her overy other day. I figure in about 2 weeks I can cut back to every 2 days. The vet said she'd have to be taken off slowly, so that's what I'm trying to do.
