I Have been having some odd encounters with foxes lately, and getting many pictures of them, thought I would share.

Random Fox #1:
This little guy startled me by following me back from reading a meter while I was heading to my truck.

" Um, hello"
http://i222.photobucket.com/albums/dd301/z28gurl_2007/fox7.jpg

" Have any goodies in that there truck of yours?"
http://i222.photobucket.com/albums/dd301/z28gurl_2007/fox6.jpg

" This is a dog treat , not a fox treat but it will do"
http://i222.photobucket.com/albums/dd301/z28gurl_2007/fox8.jpg

"THANKS!"... *tastes like cardboard*

Random Fox #2... Last nights fox:
While the man and I were on a drive just before sunset for bush chickens we ran into this guy.
"Stop... game warden"
http://i222.photobucket.com/albums/dd301/z28gurl_2007/fox3.jpg

Let me just trot around this here Ford you call a truck and see if you have anything I may be interested in... I would appreciate it if you would stop the truck though" ( he was following us as we were driving slowly)
http://i222.photobucket.com/albums/dd301/z28gurl_2007/fox2.jpg

"Now that I have you stopped, I'm going to have a sit down and stare back at you"
http://i222.photobucket.com/albums/dd301/z28gurl_2007/fox5.jpg

"Whats this? Portions of the bush chickens that you guys do not want? Sure I'll sniff them and check to see if they are to my liking"

The first picture s/he was literally close enough for me to reach out and pet it.
Kind of un-nerving as no wild animal is supposed to come that close, but I think he has been fed by people as he was quite tame.
Driving a Hybrid truck really helped to not frighten him away too.

wow! I agree kinda un-nerving, esp a fox (rabies)

but great pics & nice of you guys to share with him LOL.

They're both pretty healthy looking so rabies really wasn't really going through my mind, the second fox who was following our truck down the road sort of had me worried until we realized he was following the bush chickens more so than the truck. When we first came up on him, he was eating a field mouse on the side of the road, I guess he knew there was a better snack in that big noisy thing lol

Aren't they just wonderful looking animals. Great pics.
I hadn't seen one for a very long time and then last week saw one on the street I work on on my way in. He was beautiful with the biggest bushy tail. Nice to know they're still around in the city.

Oh they're beautiful! We are seeing more and more here in the city because of the plethora of useless subdivisions being slapped up around here... seems like every inch of bush and trees is being mowed down for houses no one lives in.:frustrated:

Mighty nice of you to share some treats with them! :lovestruck:

Wow, can't believe you were able to get so close to a fox . Here they are so shy, that you wouldn't be able to get within a 100 feet of them.

Great pics, thanks for sharing.

Just like in the Escape commercial

Makes me sad that they are not afraid of people  what if the next guy they meet is a hunter ?

Fantanstic pics! They are such beautiful animals. I would have been concerned about rabies too, but also mesmerized by the closeness and wonder of it all. Love the "tastes like cardboard" pic  Thanks for sharing these with us.

My work truck is the Escape :D

Fortunately for these foxes, no one around hunts for fox, they only have bad run ins with chicken farmers really (and there aren't many around anymore)
The trappers though:sad: :frustrated:
thankfully people aren't sitting around snares waiting.

Erykah, they are gorgeous,it's hard to see how big they are..here I saw one one evening and he did not look much bigger than a large cat and I am sure it was not a baby.
You are very fortunate to live the way you are:thumbs up
