September 2008 challenge - Back to school - learning or teaching

Just starting the thread now to get some ideas. An easy one is pets in the fall but as always - we are open for ideas.

A "back-to-school" theme? Photos can include a new trick/command, obedience school/puppy classes, playing a new game, even walking their kids to the bus stop. For kitties, perhaps something new they've taught their people :D?

Anything to do with "learning something new."

Funny thing is they were just playing :laughing: They make a lot of silly faces when playing, and this shot just happened to turn out so random - he looks so angry!

You know, when I first tried to get Czari to play, she'd just hiss and run away from the toy. But I've noticed she observes the others a lot, so I think she realized that wasn't anything to be afraid of, so she was actually having fun. She loves toy mice and she's even gotten brave enough to venture on top of the cabinets! She sees Oksana up there all the time, so last night that's where I found her. :laughing:

My kittens taught me that sometimes deception is justifiable.

My kittens HATE getting their nails trimmed. I have many battle scars to prove it! :frustrated: I tried bribing them with treats, but they would just rather run away. I tried holding one down while a friend tried clipping, but the constant squirming made it impossible to cut the nail without a high probability of cutting the quick. BTW, I never cut their quick, so I don't why they squirm so much.

Now whenever I need to trim their nails, I clear out a section on my desk and lay down some towels. Since they like to nap while I'm on the computer, they will usually climb up and nap on the towel, instead of napping behind the monitor or by the door. Once asleep, nail trimming becomes a breeze!

No paws in the glass, I had to coax her up on the table, she already knew at that point what was in it & didn't want to sniff the glass cuz she doesn't like the fizzys up her nose :laughing:

Well he did do lots of that but these pics were taken before Chase screwed up his leg again. :rolleyes: I was so proud of Logan though....it was the first time he'd been off leash for awhile. :D

This is Dr. Suess, just three days ago learning about composters. It was the first time he had his leash moved back there and I thought he would have more sense. Because I had my hands full of camera, right after I took this picture, Seuss managed to jump in. ICK!!! :yuck:(He wanted to eat the flies. For some reason he really didn't want rescue.
