Pretty, Chico, I waited almost 5 mins for those to download but it was worth it, pets.ca is not being kind to me tonight :frustrated: I'm not sure what the blue ones are either I'm sure 14k will come to the rescue. My large Hosta got munched bad this year, the first year anything has dared :yell:

Beautiful flowers Chico2. Love the hosta too. I've learned to love leaves and textures as much as flowers.

Gorgeous flowers, as always, chico! :D

Have you ever tried beer in the garden? No...not for you...for the slugs? Put a tuna can or some other shallow can in the ground with the rim even with the surface of the soil, then fill it with beer. The slugs will crawl into it and drown. Hey, it sounds weird, but I've had good luck with it. Evidently slugs are lushes!

Think those blue flowers are great lobelia like these?:

Beer works really well for slugs. I was going to mention it too. Copper can also be used. You put a ring of copper wire around the base of the plants the slugs are bothering. They don't like the zap they get from the copper. I love that shade of Canna Chico. It's so pretty. You will have tons of tubers when you dig them up this fall!

I was thinking that blue flower looks like a type of campanula. There are so many different types of that plant that grow at different times of the season it's really hard to say. I have a wild one that looks very similar to that one. Guess I will have to wait till I see it in person. I don't think it's the lobelia hazel. The leaves look different.

Yes, and a good one. There are so many different varieties of plants that it is hard to tell what's what any more. For quite a few of the lesser known varieties I grab my books and start searching. Sometimes I never find them. But it sure is fun to try!!

Thank's girls,I've done the beer thing before and it works for sure, but there still are some slugs who don't like beer:laughing:
My big Hosta has never been bothered, but my other Hostas get eaten, not before now though, which is weird.
14+you have to teach me what to do about the Canna-tubers,I have no idea..
Usually I bag tubers or bulbs, put them in a dark place and find them 3 yrs later:laughing:
Hazel, the flowers on your Lobelia look very similar to my blue one,I also have a white one.

I actually have small gardens,it's just that they are packed with plants:laughing:
