I'm not quite sure how this just happened, but DW is bringing home 11 week old "Misha" for"trial run" this weekend.

OMG OMG OMG she's SOOOOOOO FRIKIN' CUTE!!!! She's a boston mix :flirt:

August 22nd, 2008, 10:02 AM
trial run,huh????.....yup..that's how it starts:D....

Congratualtions on your new addition:D:laughing::cloud9:

August 22nd, 2008, 10:03 AM
lol, bendyfoot, this is why we don't let our dw's out unsupervised. sweet little baby face tho.

August 22nd, 2008, 10:13 AM
:lovestruck:I want to take a big bite out of those squishy, flurpy lips:lovestruck:

DW has admitted that we are both insane for even considering this, but....

gad, you're right aslan, these women just can't be left to their own devices!!!

(not that I argued very much, lol)

August 22nd, 2008, 10:19 AM

*smoochie* *smoochie* *smoochie* on 'da bellie!

August 22nd, 2008, 10:21 AM
puppy belly!! :flirt:

August 22nd, 2008, 10:51 AM
Apparently she was found my DW's coworker found her by the side of the road about 4 weeks ago, malnourished and full of fleas. She's been treated, dewormed, vaccinated, etc., but the coworker can't keep her permanently. She's well/old enough to go to a permanent home now (looking at that belly I'd say she's made up for any lost time:laughing:)

August 22nd, 2008, 10:59 AM
omg, she's adorable! can't wait to see more pics... and we DEFINITELY need more pics.

August 22nd, 2008, 11:03 AM
These are the only pics I got from the coworker. Trust me there will be billions if she ends up staying with us. Her current mom is going to drive her to our house tonight, yay! You'll have to wait until monday for pics though, 'cause I won't have access to a computer until then.

August 22nd, 2008, 11:18 AM
oh wow!!! Look at that BELLY! so cute!!! you are really lucky to have come across this girl... or should I say she is really lucky!!! yay for Misha!!!
hopefully :fingerscr she gets along with your other pets.

off topic question- What does DW mean? I am guessing something to do with wife? I have also seen DH on threads but for the life of me have never been able to figure it out!!!

August 22nd, 2008, 11:25 AM
Yeah, DW=darling/dear wife (DH=darling/dear husband, DP=partner, etc.)

That's why this weekend is a trial run...we have to see how she gets along with the other critters, especially Gracie. She's been living with cats and has had lots of interactions with other dogs. She's been crate trained, which is a real bonus!:thumbs up)

She is a cutie!!! I don't think we'll keep the name Misha if it works out with her, neither of us is crazy about the name. Pets always seem to fall on our laps when we start talking about adding to the's funny, because we'd decided that our third dog would be a boston, and then she shows up!

August 22nd, 2008, 11:37 AM

August 22nd, 2008, 12:24 PM
Flippy, floppy ears! How cute!! :cloud9:
Good luck! I am sure by Monday she will no longer be a "trial"! :D

August 22nd, 2008, 12:38 PM
Yeah her ears are different in each pic, I wonder if they'll end up being "uppies" or "floppies?" or maybe one of each?

August 22nd, 2008, 12:45 PM
I like "uppies" with floppy tips. :lovestruck: One of each would be cute though.

August 22nd, 2008, 12:47 PM
She's only 9 lbs at 12 weeks. Any guesses how big she could get? I seem to recall Jaida was 20-25 at that age and she's 60 full grown. I'm thinking around 30-40 lbs...

I think those ears could go either way, it'll be fun to see how they turn out!

August 22nd, 2008, 12:49 PM

Oh my goodness - she is one cutie alright. Sounds to me like she's already home... I'm sure she'll fit in just right. In the last pic her eyes look like she just saw her belly and went

August 22nd, 2008, 01:22 PM

August 22nd, 2008, 01:56 PM
what will her name be??

August 22nd, 2008, 02:01 PM
We don't know yet, we'll have to meet her first :D

I'm terrible at coming up with names sometimes...Solomon was "My Cat" for like 4 weeks!!! Jaida came with the name Jada, and we liked it but changed the spelling...Gracie was named that by the HS...Boo was named by DW's neighbour's 4-year-old...hmmmm... we might need some help with this. Any suggestions?

I like human names for pets (stuff like Cuddles and Honey don't work for me), and I suspect this will be a spunkly little girl...

I've got Roxy in my head right now, but we'll have to see.

August 22nd, 2008, 02:06 PM
how about Abby..

August 22nd, 2008, 02:09 PM
you could alter her existing name a touch, to Mishka= gift of love in indian.

August 22nd, 2008, 03:02 PM
Oh, how could you resist that belly?? :lovestruck::lovestruck:
Can't wait for the tons of pictures to follow!

As for names - what about Stella? Penelope? Helga? :D

August 22nd, 2008, 03:54 PM
good luck tonight :goodvibes::goodvibes:

OMG! That pink sweater is killing me!:cloud9:

She's adorable!!!!! Trail run huh? Riiiiiiight.

August 22nd, 2008, 07:45 PM
That little girl is gorgeous!I think she will need to be retreated for worms because that is quite the belly on her!She may not even be a mix (but who cares right).I say if she is purebred or mix with similar size dog then she will probably get as big as 30 pounds max.Good luck and I love her!!!:lovestruck:

August 22nd, 2008, 09:14 PM

August 25th, 2008, 06:58 AM
how did it go this weekend???

did you get pictures??

August 25th, 2008, 08:33 AM
:thumbs upWell...the trial run was a success!!!!

I can't beleive how well she integrated with the other animals. She and Jaida play and play and play (I think Jaida gets beat up most of the time:laughing:) and Gracie is curious and tolerant, which is as good as we could hope for.

The little one's name is Heidi:D

She listens very well to us and respects the other dogs especially Graice. She's interested in the cats but doesn't chase them nearly as much as Jaida did as a pup.

She's very confident but not bossy. She seems unflappable really, and likes adults, children, dogs, cats, and doesn't startle at loud noises like vaccuums. Very even temperament. She's also a huge cuddle-bum and will snuggle with either one of us every chance she gets.:lovestruck:

It's so weird having such a tiny dog in the house! I don't think she'll get much over 25 lbs. Everything about her body looks proportional already, with TINY little dainty feet.

So, so far so good, we had a great first weekend together:thumbs up

Ummm....i forgot to download my pics:o

August 25th, 2008, 08:41 AM

Belle was around 8-9lbs at 12 weeks as well and she's now 25 pounds at one year (HUGE for a Boston!)

August 26th, 2008, 08:23 AM
Here they are, as promised! I forgot how hard it is to take pictures of a puppy...they never stop moving!!! My best ones are all of her sleeping!

She was a very good girl last night:angel:...didn't cry at all at bedtime or in the morning and had no accidents in her playroom:thumbs up

I don't want the baby bone, moms, I want the BIG GIRL bone!

Gracie, will you be my friend?

How does that taste, Heidi?

August 27th, 2008, 01:44 AM
The last sleeping pic is so cute  I see it didn't last long

August 27th, 2008, 08:33 AM
This little girl is going to be a handful!!! She was humping Jaida this morning and got a little hump in on Gracie's leg while she wasn't looking!!! She's smart and strong-willed...hmmm...sounds like her terrier sister Gracie....(rotten terriers!!!) She's on umbillical mode right now and will be for a while I suspect.

But, on the plus side, the potty training is going pretty well...she's learning the "go pee" command for outside and uses her pee pads in her play room. She doesn't cry when put in her crate to go to bed. And she's learned "sit" and will reliably do it, even when she's excited because it's time to put on or take off her collar or leash. She doesn't nip at hands (only poor Jaida's ears and lips:rolleyes:) and responds quickly to verbal correction ("ah ah!" is all it takes to get her to stop what she's doing or drop something she shouldn't have in her mouth). She doesn't chew anything except her toys.

She likes to hoard toys, I've noticed. She'll empty out the toybox and bring everything over to a blankie, the little nut. She has no guarding issues, which is nice, anyone can take toys from her.

Hopefully will get more pics this week :D

August 27th, 2008, 09:26 AM
She sounds like a very smart pup, and a little firecracker!

August 27th, 2008, 09:57 AM
She is too cute bendyfoot, definately squishable :cloud9:

August 27th, 2008, 10:12 AM
breeze, the pink sweater belonged to her old mom (the one who took her in when she needed help). It was a sweater for her fluffy cat who got shaved:laughing: Funny how it's big on the dog:laughing:

Now that I know that she'll need a sweater, I have a very strong urge to go buy her something. Like right now...:D Something pink perhaps? DW would KILL me:laughing:

August 27th, 2008, 03:26 PM
K...I can't load the second page...must be pics on it? So I take it the introductions went well and you're keeping the little darlin' since you're already plotting her winter wardrobe? :D

:highfive: Congrats!

August 28th, 2008, 01:28 AM
