Hello,

I have a 20 month female chocolate lab. Recently I noticed her top jowls (lips) are very bumpy and thick (bottom of jowls). There is no fur on the bumps and they are reddish in color. She wants to scratch them, which makes it worse. Any suggestions? Can I apply something topical? Could they be bug bites? Please help if possible. Thanks a lot. H :)

Do you think your dog has warts? This is a contagious virus in dogs. The bumps will appear to be in clusters and kinda cauliflower like. My one golden had it as a pup.

Do a search on the web for "canine papilloma"

It is possibly acne Mastiffs get it quite commonly. They use phisoderm or stridex pads, and wipe there mouths after they drink.

I agree, it is probably nothing. My girls get all sorts of "things" on their mouths. I use Gold Bond on the places they don't lick all the time. I just want to be sure its not warts, because they can get very ugly!
