Last Sunday was the SPCA dogwash and yours truly was the photog for the event. Even though it rained for a good part of the event, the SPCA was still able to raise 3500.00 :highfive:

Here are a few pics from the event.

Enjoy!

$3500! WooooHoooooo! :thumbs up A pretty good day, then! :highfive:

That little dachshund is adorable! :flirt:

And that handsome husky (or is it a mal? :o) seems to be very happy that the bath is over! Look at those eyes! Poor doggie! :grouphug:

Great pics, marko! I like the one with the water dripping off the labby the best, I think. :cloud9:

Looking forward to the pics tomorrow!

Thanks again for the feedback everyone!

Nope the kitty was there for nail clipping and I believe microchipping :highfive:
All the prices were VERY reasonable and I'd encourage people to check it out next year if they live in Mtl.

thx

I agree with that
they wanted 45 dollars for mircochipping and at the vet they told me the vets would charge anywhere from 80-100.00$ big big difference..

Do you wash the dogs at the shelter... and charge people? Or do people bring their dogs there? I've never heard of a fund raiser like this. The shelter I volunteer at has alot of land and maybe this is something we could do if it works that well for you guys!

Hey Kathryn you could get lots of ideas from here! If you have a lot of space you could set up booth type events and have stuff like clipping nails, grooming, maybe a little fun agility type course, vets could offer reduced prices on a microchip?, doggie wash! heck how about a car wash? :thumbs up

Hi Kathryn,

We have the dog wash at big park next to a pet supply store (that does not sell pets, of course!!). They sponcer us with shampoo, nail clippers, etc. and tghey advertise the event in about 20 of their stores.
Our shelter does not have any land so we could not have it there!

You could have a dog wash at your shelter since you have lots a land but one of the keys to succcess is to do it in a high-visibility location: We made 2000$ more the year we switched from an industrial area to a high traffic, very dog-friendly area.
