Pit Bull Love

Deeohgee came to me at about seven months old, as her owners didn't want to deal with her and were going to euth her if someone didn't take her. The owners sister put a plea up for her on Pit Bull Forum and since it was in my area and I was fosterless at that time, I offered to take her. It just seemed so rediculous to me that such a young pup should die for no reason other then her owners didn't care for her enough to put some work into her. Deeohgee was with us for almost a year and was she a RIOT! I always said she went down in history as my son's all time favorite foster. These two had such a great time together and I'll post the pictures to prove it! lol Deeohgee wasn't an easy dog to place as she is very high drive, mostly direct at toys and because of this, can be toy aggressive towards dogs if not handled properly. Plus, she had more energy than ten dogs put together! lol She is so "my kind of dog"! :thumbs up At one point, we tested her out for LawDogs ( here's the link if anyone is unfamilair with the program http://www.lawdogsusa.org/ ) , but her only issue was that she would pull her attention off of her "search" to great any new coming people, which was a great testament to her temperment, but not what they want in a working dog so we continued the search for a forever home for her. The day finally came where we thought her forever family came along in the form of a young active guy. He seemed perfect for her and off she went on her new life. We got updates for awhile but they eventually dwindled when the guy moved out to the sticks with no internet access. Fast forward to more than two years later and we get a tip from small dog rescue that this guy is trying to ditch her on them! We finally get in touch and he says he thought we wouldn't want her back! :wall: Turns out his girlfriend is pregnant and she thinks Deeohgee will eat the baby! So back she comes, ditched, and her owner already has a new puppy that the girlfriend is complaining wants too much attention, wanting to eat all them time and all. :wall: Only thing I kept thinking was "wait until this baby is born and needs attention and food!" So anyhoo... Deeohgee is back in the pack like she never missed a beat. :thumbs up
Here she is now...

Oh what a gorgeous girl! I can't believe the guy tried to dump her after two years because his girlfriend is a complete idiot. Eating the baby? Seriously???? She's so cute - but sounds far too high energy for me! Good to hear she's happy now and back in your pack :)

I was going to say "poor girl" but changed my mind. She's super lucky to have found her way back into your home where she's appreciated and loved :goodvibes: . You're her , Pit Bull Love.

LOL...she climbs tires and trees? Too cute! :lovestruck:

LOL, I think your pups need a 12 step program for those tires.
That's unbelievable about the guy that took her now wanting to get rid of her because of his girlfriend. He needs to grow some cojones and tell her there's no reason to think she's going to eat the baby.
But at least you were able to find her again and she is back with you. His loss your gain.

I'm glad you asked! LOL I was actually going to post a thread about it to see if anyone on here has ever tried one with their dogs. It's basically a stick of some sort with rope on it, with a toy tied to the end. Think "giant cat toy"! lol For any dogs with decent prey drive, it's a great way to excercise them. I first made one out of a PVC pole and rope but now I'm using a horse lung whip and it works great and is a little more easier to handle.
Here's the basic concept. I've seen all kinds of versions of them. Some with a longer rope, some people even put the toy directly on the pole.

I just tapped the top of them and said "Go on up!" and up she went! lol You can pretty well get her to do anything! lol We had her going down inside the middle of the stack of tires and back up them. It was helarious. I try to be a bit mellower on her now that she's had ACL surgery as she has to much drive to have enough sense to know when something might injure her.

Pit Bull Love, what a lucky girl that you found out about her troubles, obviously the owner did not love her enough to stand up for her:sad:
Is she going to be staying with you now,or are you still looking for someone to adopt her???
I hope she's staying:fingerscr

Well, she is up for adoption but honestly, unless there is another me out there, I can't see anyone adopting her or Bailey! lol Everyone, including myself pretty well assumes they will both be here forever! lol It would have to be a VERY special home for me to even consider either of them leaving. Finding someone with enough breed experience to not only know how to handle such a high drive dog, let alone appreciate her is a pretty tall order to fill and I'm pretty hard to impress! lol Ya.. I can see her growing old here.

I have to say of all your furbabies that you've posted pictures of, i like Deeohgee the best. I can see she would definately be a handfull tho. you're an  for giving these poor misunderstood babies a great home.
