My Baby Girl, Scarling!

Well, the past year was a very difficult time for our family. My three beloved pit bull girls Venus, Marz and Nyx all passed away. :sad: We still had Tank and Arez, as well as some fosters, but it just felt like we needed a new baby. So home came Scarling. She's my first registered girl, and we had planned on showing and working her, but when a throat culture had come back saying my daughter had picked up a second bug off of one of the dogs {we suspect it was probably from my old girl Venus before she passed} we decided it would be safest to not show/compete Scarling for fear she might pick up a bug at a show and get Raven sick again. The kids were heart broken as they really wanted to junior handle her as well as participate in training her in agility. Well, we aren't ones to be beaten, even by as tough a foe as Cystic Fibrosis, so we got some agility equipment for the yard and have started teaching her on our own. :thumbs up Anyhoo.. I couldn't be happier with her. She's got the typical full of people love, but wigglin' personality I would expect out of a pit bull and a ton of toy drive which was exactly what I was hoping for! Without further ado... here's our new girl, "Zoe's Scarling, vWD normal". :D

What a gorgeous girl she is! To bad you couldnt show her, but she will love agility, just make sure you take it really easy on her young joint, it can be really hard and damaging on them while they are still developing.

For sure! We're mostly sticking to getting her to go through the tunnel, teaching her "over", low stuff though so she's not really jumping, as well as working on her obedience to go along with it. She really loves the treadmill as well, but I won't let her go on it much. Usually just after I sprayed it and it'

I am starting to teach my dog agility too! where did you get your equipment. We are about as far along as you, minus the tunnel, althoguh Enzo has built up to the full height jumps. I dont know of too many places around here to get agility equipment.

For sure! We're mostly sticking to getting her to go through the tunnel, teaching her "over", low stuff though so she's not really jumping, and "under" as well as working on her obedience to go along with it. She really loves the treadmill as well, but I won't let her go on it much. I'll let her do maybe half a minute or so once in a blue moon, but that's it until she's mature. She's the third pup I've had here that right off the bat, knew what the treadmill was for and just wanted to run full out on it without any coaxing! lol Crazy pups!

We just got a little set at a pet store near our house. It had the tunnel, a pause box as well as some little jumps. I think the jumps are too flimsy for these guys though. I'm thinking of building my own eventually as well as one of those a frame things.
