grey_girl July 28th, 2008, 08:47 AM Am looking for a QUALITY boarding kennel (or in home boarding) in Montreal, We board our greyhound regularly for a few days at a time. I am very picky about the boarding place so most places I've looked at are inadequate for a whole variety of reasons. The closer to downtown the better. Any suggestions?
SnowDancer July 28th, 2008, 10:06 AM I suggest you ask your vet for recommendations - this is how I found the lovely young woman who home boards our dogs - and generally the person or facility will be someone your vet knows - and sometimes they even board their own dogs with same people. Mine does.
Frenchy July 28th, 2008, 11:48 AM I know of a good one but it's on South Shore , about 30 minutes from Champlain bridge.

 yes maybe I should start dogsitting. I was thinking about the one in St-Jacques Le Mineur , each dog have their own room , all different themes , one is mediaval , there's a Harry Potter's room ... and so on :D real cute :thumbs up
coppperbelle July 29th, 2008, 06:00 AM Seriously I have thought of dogsitting for people. Two years ago a lady who adopted a dog from us needed someone for the month of February. She was going to pay $300.00 and I refused. :wall: I'm not too bright, because I refused.

Winston July 29th, 2008, 11:26 AM Frenchy I would like to book the week of August 17-23rd? How much do you charge? Oh Is there a discount if he is a senior? Or a discount for bringing him to your house??
poodletalk July 29th, 2008, 11:30 AM Greygirl, you can look into Hotel Muzo, www.hotelmuzo.com. It's right beside the lachine canel, the dogs are taken for nice long walks around the canel, plus they have an excerise rooms where the dogs play and a vet on call 24 hours incase of emergency.
I went their 3 different times to inspect their facilities, all times the animals were well taken care of and the rooms were spotless.
Hotel Muzo will also be having a booth at the SPCA Monteregie dogwalk on September 7th at the St.Lambert Seaway Park.
If you don't like hotel muzo, you can always check out www.mariodogs.com. He boards dogs in him home, he has kids so your dog would need to be dog friendly.
Another great place is, www.spaws.ca. I know Gerdy's Rescue sometimes boards their dogs at spaws.
I hope this helps!

lAnge Gardienne October 15th, 2008, 07:08 PM I notice that some of you are trying to find a good dog sitter.

I am a veterinary technician and do have many veterinarian refferals.
www.mypets-bestfriend.com to see if this might help you out while looking for someone to board your doggies or home visits.
Good luck!
lAnge Gardienne October 15th, 2008, 07:11 PM Where did you bring your doggie for care? where you satisfied?
grey_girl October 10th, 2009, 09:36 PM I have since boarded my grey at 2 locations that I liked: Hopital Veterinaire Rive Sud, left him there approx 5 X, 4 pee walks per day at reasonable intervals, nice indoor runs. Often very slow check in/check out though .
And in Saint Lazare: Guides Canin, left him there 3X, plenty of walks/play time, nice indoor runs, fast check in/checkout, but of course there's the whole drive to get there.
luckypenny October 10th, 2009, 09:54 PM Were you aware that those peepee walks consist of a stroll around the perimeter of the parking lot at HVRS :o?
I think the drive out to St. Lazarre is worth it for what you're pooch is getting :).
