Pics of the horses

Man o man, they keep me busy ( and broke lol)
I just keep on horse shopping. So far we have spent well over $2000 just on "stuff" for them and there is still saddles, bridles, bits, farrier services, vet stuff and so on...
So worth it though.
Me and Fay had a bit of an issue this week, I wasnt feeling well and she spooked me a bit so I was a little weary around her, she picked up on this and decided she was now to be "boss mare"...
Didnt take much to get my position back from her though and now we are getting along great.
We decided to name the filly Venna, its been 2 days now that she isnt afraid of me anymore and has become quite the pest. If you walk into the pasture, shes there, and she follows and leans and gets in the way alot, but shes just learning.
And learning fast. Yesterday I was able to get her halter on her for the first time, she didnt mind this new contraption one bit on her face.
Today I have managed to pick up and briefly hold each hoof , lift her tail and play around with her mouth a bit. I think these 2 horses are going to be great for a first timer like me.

Well, enough about that for now, and on to the pics.
A really nice shot of Fays eye, They've grown on me alot and really she wouldnt be the same without them (clearly)

Does momma mind the dogs around her baby???

Those horses are so beautiful, erykah, you are so lucky to have the opportunity to own not one, but two.:cloud9: I have always wanted to have a horse. It would be a dream come true.

Momma pins her ears at the dogs, but doesnt get too upset with them, she just doesnt like them around her. Venna goes up to the dogs and ask for it.

I guess she is OK as long as the dogs don't touch, lol.

Beautiful, they are just beautiful!

Yeah thats Mr.Moxy ( our feral that we adopted out twice) he came back again due to some unfortunate health issue with his new home. They were heart broken to return him, and completely genuine. Moxy is just going to stay here with us, I think it was meant to be this way:shrug:
He gets along great here, does his thing but is always just a few feet away from you at all times.

I think Venna shows alot of potential as a barrel horse:shrug: watching her move around, the "spring" in her that sets her off like a rocket and her fearless attitude when introduced to new things now ( that she trusts me) I see her as a great little barrel racer/ western gamer.
I'll keep a closer eye on her and see if this is something she indeed will be good for and perhaps get back into my barrel racing days ( from when I was a teenager with my cousins Arabians... who really weren;t the best barrel horses lol)

They are so gorgeous, and Venna is just adorable. I love the youngen's :D Fay's eyes are so unique, I've never seen eyes like that on a horse before - it's quite stunning. I've always wanted to have some horses, but until I win the lottery there definitely is no way anytime soon. Enjoy your girls, they look great!
