Purpledomino July 17th, 2008, 07:10 PM Yes you DO need to be concerned. This is a plant that is toxic to dogs, and you should not have this plant in your home, or at the very least, put it up high where your dog is certain to never get at it. I would never let a dog nibble on ANY houseplant EVER....there are just too many that are poisonous and it isn't worth the gamble. A small size dog such as yours probably would have to ingest less of the plant to do damage.....so please be very vigilant! katherine93 July 17th, 2008, 08:33 PM DO YOU NEED TO BE CONCERNED???? :wall::eek: I can't beleive you would even ask that! of course you should be concerned, You have written about health problems that your dog has been having, and then you find out that the plant your dog has been snacking on is poison and you still ask if you should be concerned? Im sorry i kinda flew off the handle buut.. ugh:wall: Can you please take her to the vet and remove the plant from your house, for the good of your dog...sorry i was so rude about how i said it, i sure hope you arent scared away from this forum! ancientgirl July 17th, 2008, 08:47 PM Please, take the plant away from anywhere your dog is. If you like having plants around your house, you can find a list of toxic plants and safe plants I believe on the ASPCA site. I think it would also be a good idea to take your dog to the vet with this new information. Perhaps it will help solve some of his health issues. Good luck! 14+kitties July 17th, 2008, 09:31 PM Here is a list for you. It may be a good idea to print it and keep it handy. She said "Where have all your house plants gone, you use to love your plants" All I said was " I love my dog more". Take your dog to a vet, talk to your vet. tstav August 5th, 2008, 10:16 PM Hi there, A friend gave me some seeds for Oriental Poppies and before I plant them and share them, I wanted to make sure they weren't harmful to my pets. Does anybody know? Thanks! Tom :pawprint: rainbow August 6th, 2008, 12:38 AM All parts of the poppy are poisonous.... http://www.sniksnak.com/plants-toxic.html |
