You should put up a lot of posters first thing in the morning, and also report him missing to your local animal shelters.
The first few days are important.
Check the shelter websites regularly too for found animals and go out with friends to call out his name.

I was just going to suggest you fax a picture of your dog (and a description) to vet offices in your area, also any organization that takes in stray animals. Offer a reward (some people mention the amount; I wouldn't). Expect to hear from scammers - they may be calling from Nigeria, they are scum - especially if you post on kijiji.
