How's this for a reason to give your cat away!!! It won't use the toilet to go poo!!

Dracko

Looking on Kijiji locally here in Saskatoon and came across this:

Her name is Jasmin. Supposedly, she's an odd-eyed american short-hair mixed with Turkish Angora. We have had her since she was 4 weeks old. We are giving her away because we have 3 cats in toatl, whom of which are all toilet trained, but she's being stubborn and refuses to go #2 in the toilet( therefore goes elsewhere), and I don't want to deal with litter/litterboxes/scooping ever again! She loves the litterbox, and has no problem using it....

She is almost 4 years old, and her EXACT birthday is July 12, 2004. Since she is the youngest, we have less of a connection with her, so it's easier to giveher away.

After 4 years???

The stupidity of some people never ceases to amaze me :wall: .

She's four years old and they've had her since she was four weeks. How can you not have an emotional attachment to her? :loser:s big time! :frustrated:At least they had enough sense to ask for a little money instead of giving her away free. But still - :loser:s!

Very weird ad. They care enough that she goes to a non smoking home and they did get her spayed.

OMG! I don't even know what to say. I'm speechless.

ETA: I'm sorry, I couldn't keep my mouth shut. I emailed this:

You have some nerve wanting to receive updates after you give her away for such such an idiotic reason.

I hope some day someone tosses you away for something so stupid. After all, they probably won't have an attachment to you.

Nobody likes having to clean out litter, Please! But my heavens that is no reason to give you a cat you've had in your home for 4 years! Did they ever even love that poor girl?

What really frosted my @ss was they wanted to periodically check up on her after they gave her away! That's why I had to write something.

Why don't they just get a stuffed cat? They don't eat, poop or pee.

You have pets you have to deal with the fact they poop! And you will have to clean that up!

So she hates litter, but it's okay to leave the toilet open all day and come home to those floaters?

I wouldn't give them visits. Maybe the occasional email. Dumping does not get you privileges.

I considered trying to toilet train Vlad when I first got him. I did so because placement of litter boxes in the apartment I was living was difficult. But as I thought about it and read information pro/con I decided against it. I worked around the litter box placement and just dealt with having them in obstructive spots. When I got Oksana I was doubly glad I changed my mind because one day she jumped on the seat just because she wanted to get on the counter and lost her footing and fell inside! (it was clean btw)

I'd be more afraid for my furry's to fall in and drown. I can deal with litter boxes, big deal. I'd rather have that than wondering if they have fallen in, or coming home to a smelly toilet.

I bet when this person has company she keeps the toilet seats down and her poor cats have to hold it in.

Dracko
July 8th, 2008, 10:23 PM
What I think is sad is cats really love to dig and cover things. It is in their instinct. Sad these ones are forced to miss that.

AG I agree with what you said about them maybe falling in. How'd u like to come home one day and find your cat in the bowl cuz for some reason it couldn't get out. Plus, I'm sure you'd end up cleaning up poop that doesn't fall off right or pee that is aimed wrong at time.

ancientgirl
July 9th, 2008, 07:48 AM
Here's something really sad to think about too. What happens when her present cats that are using the toilet get older and it's harder for them to jump up on the toilet seat? They won't be able to jump up there or won't even want to because it's too much trouble for an old kitty. They will probably start going elsewhere, so then there will be the problem with those cats not using the toilet.

Is she going to give them away too?

You're just jealous that you can't have her biotch! And don't think I don't know who you are!

Um...okay whatever. She may or may not know who I am. Perhaps she knows me from the internet, who knows. I could care less. I wrote her back:

Yeah, what happens when your other cats get old and can't use the toilet. You gonna toss them away too?

No I"m not jealous. I feel sorry for her that just because her owner is too concerned about getting her hands dirty with a litter box she's being tossed away. You've had her since she was a tiny thing, and because she doesn't use the litter box (which btw, burying is an instinct in cats) you are so quick to give her up.

It's funny, the other day, Mooki was curled up on the sofa and I was watching her (I do a lot of that :lovestruck: lately)...anywho, I thought what a perfect colour match she was for my furniture and then laughed because I was thinking that. LOL!

I say this because it certainly was not a reason I picked her how many years ago (didn't even have my furniture then), but there are people who do pick pets that way...sadly. These little ******* with their designer pets that HAVE to fit in a certain way or they are cast off...like the men in their lives...it is very sad. We need better role models for the young folks now days.

I considered trying to toilet train Vlad when I first got him.

I think it'd be easy...just train him to read first, then he'd go in the bathroom all the time!

I'm actually not outraged by this. To be honest, I'm trying to think if there's a way to get her to "get rid" of all her animals, because this moron doesn't deserve pets.

You'll notice the :loser: has now changed the ad  If this person has such a problem with scooping the litter box why won't she give the scoop, litter & box along with the cat?

Her name is Jasmin. Supposedly, she's an odd-eyed american short-hair mixed with Turkish Angora. Unfortunately we have to give her away, because we are moving to a place that doesn't allow pets, and there aren't any other options. .......
........... Her harness, leash, a couple toys, and her food dish would be included. You would just need a litterbox, scooper and water dish, food and litter. .......
............Finally, I love her very much, so I'm not just going to sell her to just anyone. I have to make sure she goes to a good home.

Ridiculous.

Good point made about giving away the litterbox.

Some people make me so irritated. Cleaning after your cat's potty is not considered horrendous, streneous or even unexpected extra work. It's a standard expectation and takes me like 5 minutes for two cats. BIG DEAL. Woman. Real cats make real poo. DEAL WITH IT. :loser:

Little girl, before you let your emotions take over, use your sense and realize that I'm giving her to a better home. Plus you're house is probably a pig-sty. Plus, you sound like a little townie-farm girl, so I doubt you choose to muck stalls and scoop litter, your parents probably force you. I grew up on a farm also, so I know what it's like. You have no choice until you're 16. Your parents had you for the sake of using you to share in their responsibilities. Stand up to them! I did!

My response to that -My house is far from a pig sty. Im not a little farm girl either, Did you see the fact that my mom is a Vet, do you know how much money they make? Even IF we didnt clean our house (which we do) We could just hire somebody to do it, but WE have enough sense to do it oursleves. We are what people call responsible pet owners,Where as you are what people call a loser, whom is to lazy to get off your ass to do anything. My parents dont force me to do anything, I do it because i want to, and im not a lazy son of a bitch like you. Just to make it clear, i do NOT live on a farm, I have no Farm house, My horse is kept in a Shed like barn, I do have ALOT of land, But it is well kept, and you cant even tell We have any animals. Most FArm girls dont wear clothes like abercrombie and fitch, and hollister, american eagle etc. Not saying there is anything wrong wiith living on a farm, because there isnt anything wrong with it! It is MY choice to do what i do, not my parents. And if my mom, saw what you said abnout them having me to share the responsibilites, she would kick your bitch ass. Hunni, You have serious issues with your parents, and it doesnt take a theropist to point that out, just becasue you may have had a **** lfe, doesnt mean everybody else do.

-Sorry its kinda all over the place with my opinions cause at this point my blood was boiling, and UGHHHH , I may have been a little rude, buuuut..What can ya do?

Here is the b*tches ad now as it reads now:

There is no longer an ad here because of all of the rude, harrassing, and immature hate-mail I've been getting. I'm wary to give my cat to anyone on here, b/c there are many fakes. If people really cared, they'd realize that I'm on here to give her away to a good home, rather than dropping her off at SPCA(which is not a good alternative). It's my business WHY I want to give her away, so pee off! So thanks to all of the haters, now I have to give her away on another site.

ancientgirl
July 11th, 2008, 01:28 PM
So she's angry because she's been basically told by quite a few people that giving your cat way because it won't use the toilet is wrong. I'd be curious to see what her ad looks like on those "other sites."

I wonder, when you surrender an animal do you say why you are surrendering it? Can you imagine working at the SPCA and having someone bring in their cat because it won't use your toilet?

I didn't think this person would write me again. I'd already forgotten what I even wrote to her but look at the 3 emails she sent me.

This was my last reply to her. I figured, okay I won't hear from this person again. I pretty much closed the conversation:

Yeah, what happens when your other cats get old and can't use the toilet. You gonna toss them away too?

No I"m not jealous. I feel sorry for her that just because her owner is too concerned about getting her hands dirty with a litter box she's being tossed away. Yeah, okay you know who I am. Who am I? Someone who is obviously a little more compassionate than you.

Whatever, it's your conscience and you're going to have to live with it.

Here are the 3 emails she sent me.

4 years is not old. Cats live until they're 20. That's not why she doesn't use the toilet. She pees in the toilet, but poops on the floor. How would you feel cleaning warm, wet, and stinky **** off of the floor. Plus, if you're so compassionate, you'd realize that I want to give her to a better home, and you'd leave me alone.

Plus, what would I have to live with? Knowing I gave her to abetter home? Once she's gone, I don't know anything about her anymore, so my conscience will not suffer. Plus if you care so much, why did you not offer to take her? You know I could have just paid $40 to drop her off at the SPCA, but then there is a possibility they would put her down. So please learn to look at things subjectively, and think more critically. Maybe you could use a few classes at the UofS(stands for University of Saskatchewan).

Plus, humans and cats are dissimilar in the fact that humans need to be nurtured by mothers, and cats don't. They can be loved by anyone. They don't form human attachments, they form property attachments. In other words, they forget.

I basically asked her why she felt the need to justify herself to me, a stranger. Then I asked her to feel free to stop emailing me since it didn't matter what her excuse was and I hoped her cat found a wonderful home, far away from her and her toilet.

Dracko

They don't form human attachments, they form property attachments. In other words, they forget.

Holy **** is she deluding herself. It's all about justifying so she feels better about her excuse for tossing an animal.

When you give an animal away you have no guarantee they will be treated well. Nor, even if it is a great home that the animal will adjust and feel comfortable.

I almost feel like emailing her and being nice so I can go meet her and the cats and give her a piece of my mind once I see her.

She is obviously very immature cuz if I received emails like she did I would not have replied like that. At least we pissed her off and probably ruined her day. Her cats at least deserve that. :thumbs up
