Stormy day on the lake

Terrible weather today... major storm passing through, winds gusting up to 48 km/ hr and heavy rains.
Molly wasn't too keen on going out there....

I finally convinced her...

My crazy hubby still went out fishing!

Molly combing the beach.....

"mom, can we go back inside!?"
http://img78.imageshack.us/img78/9541/dsc4043ld4.jpg
.... in the end, I couldn't even convince her to stay out and play ball! Now she's happily playing with her toys in the warm cabin.... I think I'm the one with cabin fever!!!

Thanks Chico, she's our little sweetheart, but unfortunately she's not as suited to the colder climates as some dogs are.... I might have to get her a sweater to keep her warm! :cloud9:

surprisingly, the weather calmed down last night enough for Molly to get out for some great fishing :thumbs up She sure does love it, always watching our lines to see what we will pull up next.
I love this picture, I think she has developed a taste for fish!!!

Even after her scare last time(falling in the water), she doesn't seem to have any fear... jumping on the gunnels, etc just to see what's happening!
Her and the hubby....

chico- yes, we're pretty far up here... 1 hr north of Dryden on a lake called Lac Seul. So we will never see smog or extreme heat here... although today it is supposed to be 25 and sunny so with the cool breeze from the lake, that should be beautiful!

yes, it is a beautiful part of the country and a great place to teach a pup about the wonders of the world..... when we go for walks, there is no chance of us seeing another person or dog for probably 30 miles... bears, deer, and wolves, on the other hand, are a possibility
We are just here for the summer, my husband works at a fishing lodge up here. This fall we are moving to Sioux Lookout (population 5000, just as isolated!) :thumbs up

I wanna know who caught the fish! Nice catch!!! Do you do catch and release or was it breaky?

aww, thanks guys :cloud9: yes, Molly is pretty much always photogenic, but she seems to photograph better in natural light as opposed to flash. I think it has to do with her dark colour.
14+K- we each caught the fish we were holding. We keep the smaller ones for lunch, but the larger ones (such as the ones we are holding) go back in because they are breeding stock. The smaller fish taste better and don't have the mercury levels that the larger, older fish have. Lots of trophy fish in this lake!

We sure are! When I tell some people that I live in NW Ontario, they think the Muskokas or Sudbury. Ontario is a HUGE province!
To give everyone an idea, I live 1700 KMS from Toronto! Thats a 21+ hour drive!!! (click here (http://maps.google.ca/maps?f=d&view=text&saddr=Toronto,+ON&daddr=Sioux+Lookout,+ON&ie=UTF8&ll=46.422713,-85.539551&spn=7.119305,19.248047&z=6) for map)
