pitgrrl June 13th, 2008, 11:07 AM Usually my walk to work with the dogs takes somewhere between a half hour and 40 minutes. Today, it took over and hour and made me totally late.
It all starts with me feeling a little woozy this morning. Not such a big deal, but of course this means the dogs pick today to act like they don't understand what walking in a straight line means. Nor do they seem to comprehend staying on one side of me either. But that's okay.
Then, we run into their arch nemesis "The Rottweiler". A few years ago he tried to climb over a car to get at Basil and Streets while his 102 year old owner had to enlist a passer by to help him restrain the beast. Needless to say, S&B are not the biggest fans of this dog.
On we go, still not in any semblance of a direct path, when Streets starts looking for a place to poop. A bit strange since he already did not half an hour earlier, but okay, I get it, when you gotta go......
Finally he finds a spot, poops a bit funny, but nothing dramatic so we continue on our way. We run into 3 cats, 2 squirrles, a crazed little fluffy dog and some sketchy man who won't stop going on about how "tough" the dogs must be.
Then my nose starts bleeding.
While I search for a tissue Streets starts pulling me towards a tree so he can poop again. This one was really yucky, so I have blood dripping down my face, I'm trying to figure out if I have any tissue, another bag, what's wrong with the dog and then Basil spots another cat. :yell:
By this time it's hot out, so the dog's slow to the pace of a geriatric, three legged, stoned turtle, but who cares I'm already massively late for work :D
So how was everyone else's morning?
Frenchy June 13th, 2008, 11:19 AM  sorry didn't mean to laugh :p you should consider moving to the boonies , less animal encounters on our walk
how's your nose now ? Have you eaten this morning ?
Chris21711 June 13th, 2008, 11:22 AM My day, definately better than your pitgrrl, wish I'd have been there with a camcorder though :D Did you find a tissue?
pitgrrl June 13th, 2008, 11:30 AM I finally ate 2 granola bars in about 3.5 seconds when I made it to work and did finally find some dubious looking tissue at the bottom of my bag.
It actually was pretty funny, I'm sure anyone who passed us on the street this morning thought so anyways.
Apparently the epic journey tired out the dogs though, this is what they're currently doing:

:cloud9: awwww ...... HEY ! wait a minute , are they sleeping right on the wooded floor ? No doggy beds ? No blankie ? ABUSE :yell: Can someone send an inspector to take those poor dogs out ?
and maybe ship them here
Chris21711 June 13th, 2008, 11:42 AM They had a lot of excitment they deserve to be tired http://www.pic4ever.com/images/25r30wi.gif

And of course mom has to stay awake to work
I agree with Frenchy, that is abuse to have dogs sleep on a floor.:D
pitgrrl June 13th, 2008, 11:52 AM Oh no, M. Le Snob and M. Poopy Butt are just refusing to lay on their beds. Apparently they prefer the floor. My suspicion is that they either don't like the plaid I picked out for the beds or they want to be ready to sneak under my desk when someone comes in.
okay, it might be because they're hot, but I don't think so.
In anycase Frenchy, what time should I expect you to come pick them up? You can figure out their weird poop and deal with all the squirrel chasing......
Notice how I'm totally not working at all, but instead spending my time on pets.ca?
Proof that I don't abuse my dogs, they're just weird:

hmm i was going to ask if it's one of those snobby ones in Old Montreal that give you the up and down stare as you walk in. Clearly you need a dress code to shop there and provide artwork....but none of those are cool enough to let Streets and Basil in :D
ok enough suckin up.......let's get to the point..i paint...where you at? dropping off artwork in 5 minutes !:laughing:
pitgrrl June 13th, 2008, 05:58 PM Are you suggesting that Basil and Streets aren't classy? ;)
Okay, so they did sniff some old man's crotch on the way home, but he deserved it.
Frenchy June 13th, 2008, 09:54 PM So you'll be here around 4:30? Perfect, I'll have their beds, bowls toys ready to go :D
Nice try pitgrrl , sending me to the wrong gallery :frustrated:

He deserved it ?
14+kitties June 13th, 2008, 09:59 PM I want to know why your nose was bleeding. Have you had bleeds often? Have they been checked out? That is nothing to fool around with.
jiorji June 13th, 2008, 10:07 PM I want to know why your nose was bleeding. Have you had bleeds often? Have they been checked out? That is nothing to fool around with.
cos she got her nose pierced on the way to work
sorry couldn't help myself
my friend too has weird nose bleeds from almost nothing, very sensitive nose capillaries i guess
14+kitties June 13th, 2008, 10:11 PM My daughter used to get them all the time too. She has major allergies. Her nose dried out all the time and because the veins are so close to the surface they caused bleeds. My doctor advised her to chew gum. It helps keep your nose moist. It seemed to work.
growler~GateKeeper June 14th, 2008, 12:31 AM aww Basil & Streets in sympathetic moods w/mum :cloud9: how cute :cloud9:
Awesome that the boys can come w/you :highfive:
:fingerscr :goodvibes: here's hoping tomorrow starts out better for you :D
pitgrrl June 14th, 2008, 08:04 AM I want to know why your nose was bleeding. Have you had bleeds often? Have they been checked out? That is nothing to fool around with.
I just get them a couple of times a year. I did go to a doctor once because I got all freaked out about it, but they basically looked at me like I was a maniac and said 'yeah, your nose and throat are all dried out, get a humidifier'
Now that I think about it though, it does always happen at this time of year, so maybe it's all the pollen in the air.
Awesome that the boys can come w/you :highfive:
I was highly doubtful at first that they could learn to stay put behind my desk all day. As usual though I underestimated the beasties and apart from one or two dashes to go say hi to someone, they're insanely good, which id good because I suffer from separation from the dogs anxiety
kimnmark June 14th, 2008, 08:39 AM Wow what a start to the day! At least, everyone watching you must have thought so. :D:laughing: I'm happy that the way home was less eventful.
He deserved it ?
hmmm...and just why would a man deserve a nose to the croth I wonder...:laughing:
Frenchy June 14th, 2008, 09:21 AM but they basically looked at me like I was a maniac and said 'yeah, your nose and throat are all dried out, get a humidifier'
I don't think you'll need one (humidifier) today :yuck: it's already so sticky :frustrated:
