Here's a hodgepodge I took last night and tonight - they are quick ones, and the lighting in the room I'm keeping them in is bad, so there are a lot of glowy eyes..

Here's Ethel taking a well deserved break
Igby eating Ethel's foot
Ibgy taking a bath after eating Ethel's foot :D

All three really love that green mouse - I have lots of pics of that, but I think one right now is enough :)
Probably my favorite picture - he looks like a vertical chalk outline

phoozles, I have been reading about you and the kitties, what a great thing you have done, these pic's look like they have made themselves right at home. How is Ethel doing? Is she feeling better about being in your home? pbp

I am so happy you got them in and you are right about Ethel getting a well deserved nap, she probably hasn't had a good sleep since she had those precious babies. Now her body can start recouperating from kitten birth, nursing, and hunting.

You are an . She will be so happy when she is spayed, her true personality will come out then.

Looking at Ethel snoozing, she must be so relieved to have help with those little munchkins, she sooo deserves a rest after having managed to bring up 3 very healthy looking babies.
I :pray:and:fingerscr, she will be able to stay with you.
The kittens are all beautiful,I adore Tabbies, but that little black one is amazing looking,so cute it brings tears to my eyes:lovestruck:
I wonder if that white fur will go away and I just noticed his paw-pads are brownish?? Chico has black paws.

OMG! The cuteness is about to send me over the edge! I'm so happy you were able to get all of them and keep them safe into your home. My heart breaks whenever I see a cat outside, and especially such a young cat with kittens.

Ethel and her babies are lucky you found them.

Ethel is a lot better! :thumbs up She's stopped moaning, and she's just happy to see us! Her diarrhea is gone too - so hopefully her big belly will go down soon :fingerscr

Yeah, right now she has no interest in playing, or anything, but I'm sure once she's spayed she'll be frisky like she should be!

Yeah, Cappy has brown paw pads, and a little white tip on his tail :lovestruck: I can't seem to capture it in pictures, though. He also has tabby markings, but they are brown on black, so they are hard to see. He's such a fluffball :cloud9:

We saw Jake's 'one eyebrowed baby' - the black stray in our neighbourhood go towards Ethel's old den - so we think we know where Cappy came from ;) No wonder Jake had such a problem with Ethel

Sweet Pea was like that until her kittens were actually GONE (last one left at 5 months). I think they just wore her out. She was a very good momma.

Well then you are obligated to keep snappin' and postin' them pictures until we can see those markings. We will let you know when, I promise

I saw the white tip on Cappys tail in one of the pics.
My Chico is getting a lot of white hairs(just like his mom,me),he's only 11 but I guess it could be old age(just like his mom,me:laughing:)

 Holy pressure batman!
Sorry, I had to go out of town over the weekend - although I missed an ample kitten sleeping pile-up opportunity - I always forget my camera when I get in there!

Okay, I'll see what I can do tonight..

Oh! I almost forgot! I managed to get even the elusive CC her roundworm medicine on Saturday (making her even less of a fan of me, but what are you going to do) so now all kitties have their first round of medication in! :thumbs up

I'm glad you manged to get hold of CC.

How is everyone doing? Is Ethel adjusting well? Have you been able to convince FH how great it would be to have 3 kitties?

Everyone is doing well.. I tried the ol' wet food on the hand trick, and managed to get Cappy and Igby to eat off of my hand, but not that CC.. she just hisses and runs - the only reason I was able to catch her was because she was sleeping.. *sigh*

Ethel is doing great! She still looks like she wants to nap, but I don't know how many opportunities she has to do so - all three kittens seem to think her tail is a permanent toy..

I thought I was making leeway towards FH re: Ethel - saying that we wouldn't want to see her dead in the street, and how sweet she is, and he agreed with both.. and then we went to his parent's house yesterday, and he made a mention about dropping her off at a different shelter.. :frustrated:
I'm hoping he was just kidding.. I had a headache, so it was hard to tell..

ancientgirl
June 16th, 2008, 11:16 AM
I hope he was kidding too. I'd hate to see her go outside again. Do you know anybody that might want her, that you know would keep her safe?

To be honest with you, I've been plugging these kittens, and I don't even know if anyone is going to take them.. *sigh* I'm not sure if I'll even be able to give them away. But I just can't part with Ethel, so he'll have to deal with it - I told him we could still get a dog too - I think if we gave her away he'd be sad - he just doesn't want to be a crazy cat person.. :D

:laughing:Slap him around a bit, that will work. And yeah, if you let him get a dog maybe he'll be okay with Ethel being there. I'm keeping my fingers crossed the kittens find a home.

:laughing::laughing: good one, Chris!

Take him to a shelter and then ask him if he wants Ethel to be locked up in one of those cages possibly for months. I did that with DH when I wanted to keep Sweet Pea.:D

That's a great idea! For the most part he seems (reluctantly) on board.. Sometimes it's hard to read him.. but I think he knows I'm pretty stubborn when it comes to sweet Ethel ;)

Aww Phoozlees, you could not possibly put her in a cage at the shelter, she's been through so much:sad:.
She is "just"an ordinary cat, probably would not be adopted that quick,if ever:sad:
She's happy now,has food every day, gets cuddles and love,FH just has to relent:fingerscr
I tricked my hubby into keeping Vinnie,I brought this little odd-eyed wonder home and that was it,he was here to stay.
Of course he was only a kitten, but hubby did absolutely not want 3 cats, well that's history now.:cat:
3 cats are really not that different from 2,your FH still can get his pup.
If I could,I would take one of the kittens, but it won't work a second time:frustrated:

I think he knows that he doesn't have much of a say in the matter.. plus he loves Ethel, and spends time with her when I'm not around, even before we found the kittens..

Oh, and I won't tell Ethel that you think she's ordinary.. Just kidding! :)

I think I know about one couple that MIGHT take one of the kittens.. *sigh* I might post pics on our work bulletin board in a couple weeks - hopefully someone will take one of these adorable little guys.. :fingerscr

OMG! I can not believe I have not posted a reply in here yet!!! I have looked at these pictures I don't know how many times! :headslap: I swear, I am losing it!!

They are absolutely adorable!! It's amazing how so many people say they want the little black one. I really hope for his sake he keeps the white shoots as he ages! He is unique. Me - I would just take them all, bundle them under my jacket, and sneak away...........
Oh, Ethel will be staying. Give FH some statistics on her chances of being adopted/euthanized. He will say ok.

Awww Phoozles,I did not mean to say she is ordinary in a bad way, every cat is unique, but the average person would pass on a Tabby,if there is a Calico,White,Orange or longhaired cat available for adoption.
I LOVE tabbies myself, well,I love all cats and dogs, birds, horses etc,etc...
