Neurological problem in Yorkie

Hi,
I have a wonderful little girl yorkie, 14 1/2. She has neuerological problems. We are not sure what to do. Thet vet wants to put her through extensive testing. I want to try her on medicine only because of her age. I am wondering if anyone has had a problem like this with a yorkie and has been able to help them. Any holistic measures I can take.
I do not want to put her through a lot. I do want to give her the best care she can have.
Any advice?
thanks,
Pam

I've had no experience with neurological problems, but your concerns about extensive testing certainly seem reasonable. If the meds are the same regardless of what the ailment is, testing really seems superfluous at your baby's age. If you feel uncomfortable with what your vet is telling you, a second opinion might set your mind at ease.

I hope your dog is feeling better soon. :grouphug:

A few questions in order for me to help you.

What type of neurologic signs are being seen? Is the veterinarian worried about a herniated disc?

What medication are you looking to try?

By extensive testing are you referring to testing beyond blood and urine tests and radiographs (X-Rays)? Are they discussing MRI/CT?
