Puppy Teeth

My dad & my daughter were playing with our puppy of 3 months + whilst doing so my dad scraped his finger on the puppies tooth and started bleeding. Nobody's fault they were playing and no big deal just a small poke. All's fine.

My concern is about rabies; my puppy did not have her rabies shot yet as the vet has said around 6 months she will get that shot! Is this a concern considering I have a 7 year old as well in the house. Just to be aware.

Puppies can have rabies. They should be protected for some time by immunity passed on by the mother. If you are truly concerned you need to contact the owners of the parent dogs to verify they were vaccinated and you need to check with your Vet as to how long the natural immunity inherited from the mother should last.

In my limited experience and reading the rabies shot is usually given with the last set of boosters and that is most often about 16 weeks, or about four months.
