Oksana's day at work.

Today it was Oksana's turn to go to work with mom. She was very quiet and calm on the ride to work, but she's usually very good in the car.

Once we got to work, I let her out of the carrier and she started to look around.

Her favorite place wound up being the window.

Here she spotted something.

Upon closer inspection, she saw two pigeons. You can't see them here, but they were there and cooing away.

I'm on the fence about taking her back. She was very well behaved, but it's been a long time since I have taken her to the office and she was very clingy, which is not like her, not like that. She loved the pigeons, and she liked seeing my boss. I want to take her again in a few weeks and if I see she acts like today I won't take her anymore. I like to take them to give them all a nice little experience. A change from the same 4 walls and the same window they see day in and day out. Plus, I like to give her the experience of seeing different people. I dont' want it to be a bad or scary and stressful experience so hopefully next time she will feel more comfortable.

She looks like she enjoyed the pigeons, anyway. :D Other than the clinginess, did she seem unusually stressed? She looks cautious, but fairly relaxed in the pics to me...but I'm better at canine body language than feline body language. :o

So when you have kitties at work, do you get anything done? If it were me, I'd be playing with them and taking pics and have nothing shifted from my in-box at the end of the day!

She's a very lovely addition to your office space. :lovestruck:

Looks like your work has the purrfect office/window space for visiting kitties :D great floor to ceiling windows :thumbs up

 I see a pic of Oksana on your monitor :cat:

Was she clingy right through the day to the end? how was the car ride home? and was she back to normal @ home?

she might just be showing a bit of stress being in an unknown environment - yes she's been there before but not often enough for your reserved girl to be completely comfortable. Plus Vlad's got a different outlook on life in general so his reaction to being there is different from hers.

That office is great. And my view is a lot better than my bosses, so it's perfect for them, no obstructed views.

She was clingy through most of the day. She did explore, and we did play here and there during the day. My boss said she looked like she was enjoying her outing and told me to bring her again, to let her get used to being in another place. And he said pretty much the same thing about Vlad

He said he's just all over the place and she spent the the day a little more somber. She spent most of the day wanting to knead. I saw it as a sign she might have been nervous and needed comfort. She doesn't like being picked up or held, so it was hard to try to comfort her.

The ride home was like the ride there, she was very quiet. Neither she or Vlad used the litter box when they were there. Vlad didn't eat when he came, but she did have a few bites of chicken I got her at the corner restaurant.

I used to take them both more often when they were kittens, and during that time they both fit on one carrier. Now I have to take them either one by one or in separate carriers. I don't know if taking them two at a time might be more enjoyable for them. They are all so used to having other cats around.

Next time it's Maks and Kiska's turn. I may take them both together. They aren't used to being alone or away from each other for that long a period of time.

Anyway, all in all I think Oksana found her little adventure interesting.

Ancient,I think it's great your kitties get used to travel and see a different environment.
Mine go totally howly in the car,but of course it always means they are going to the vet:cat:

I also think it's great for your kitties to get out and explore new surroundings. If you found that she seemed stressed then try taking her with one of the others next time and see how it goes. Or maybe she just needs to go more often before she will relax more.

This is the first time I took her by herself. Maybe that's why she felt out of place. I think next time I'll take one of the others along. I think that might help her feel more open to having a good time.

I'm glad I have that freedom to be able to take them. If I had a yard I'd build them a large enclosure to they could at least experience the outdoors safely, but being able to take them to work is the next best thing. :D
