Jacks brother- Buddy! He's an outside cat and comes in at night. He's microchipped. He prefers to potty outside so I'm not going to argue with him since he's a good boy and doesn't go far from the house.

My Maxwell!! I found him outside in 2006 and he was very sick. He's okay now though. He's a russian blue and is just way to smart! And kind of weird. He has separation anxiety from me.

I call this cat Grandpa. He is kinda old and he looks like my cat Maxwell's grandfather or something. He's extremely strange. He hisses at me then will rub against my leg and make me pet him. I love him though. I got him fixed and ever since then he's gotten so much nicer to me.


I have another stray named Carmel but she is a nut and I have no pictures of her cause she runs from me!

The Tri-Pod mom,did you find her with three legs,or did you have her leg amputated as well??
I know your vet has good prices,but still,do you and your mum have a rich uncle who helps out:confused:

Tripod & his sister were actually each born with half a leg. Tripod is missing half of his back left and she misses half of her back right. What my vet said is when they were developing, one of their umbilical cords got wrapped around their legs, and as they grew bigger it just chopped their legs in half.

3legged Missy does alot better then my little Tripod though. The total bill for his partial leg amputation came to about 300 dollars. The amputation its self was 200, but then we had 50$ pre-op blood work done just in case, then the meds & cone etc came out to be about 50 dollars more.

I work part time (not for much longer though) to pay for their food bill. My dad is on disability and he forks over some moneys for the vet bills instead of taking care of himself. He doesn't need much money to take care of himself as it is though so the extra he has left usually helps with our bills, like the vet bills.

That's about it... people act like it must cost a fortune but really it doesn't. Our vet gives us discounts and sometimes doesn't even charge us for the vet visit if it's just something simple that he can look at in 2 minutes and be like yup thats not a big deal he/she will be fine.


Overall the food bill is about 40 dollars a month, and the basic vet bills are probably 400 dollars per year for all of them. If that.

Of course we take it a step further and Jack sees a specialist for his eyes (Feline herpes virus or whatever) and one time I accidentally broke Maxwells tail, and one time Socks had that inflammation after getting spayed and had to go on antibiotics.....

Otherwise that's mostly it. Cheaper then me having a sibling :laughing:

You've got a wonderful little cat family there. You and your family are so great for helping them. And you are lucky to have such a kind hearted vet that doesn't charge you a lot and helps you out.

Just got back from the eye specialist with Jack today. He has Feline Herpes Virus that messes up his eyes and nasal areas... he had a flare again so we need to put him back on anti-virals and also get him some eye drops that are anti-microbial to get rid of the infection. Because his eyes were inflamed it let the germs over grow and he couldn't fight them off so the meds are specialty meds so the one might be hard to find.

I think I better relocate to the States with my brood if you can feed yours for $40 a month! Mine cost somewhere in the neighbourhood of $200. plus. And let's not even talk vet bills! The one today was $87 for visit and meds.

Fantastic job you do with all of these babies! They are very lucky to have you looking after them. When babies are weaned and mom's milk dries up she is the next one to get fixed? You have such a great deal price wise. You are very fortunate.

Three Legged Missy will be going to the next clinic because by then she should be weaned. It's sometime in Mid July and the babies were born very early this month, the 1st or the 2nd so they should be about 6 or 7 weeks old and weaned by then.

Not sure what I am going to do with the babies, but I'm not dumping them off on anyone, I'll make sure they go to good homes somehow.

And yup just basic food is about 40 bucks a month. MAYBE 50 at the most.

I get usually a big bag of Blue Buffalo (yes I know alot of you don't like the Buff but my cats prefer it over the other stuff) for about 30 dollars - 3 dollars because I always buy it at petsmart and I always get then 3 dollars off surveys and put it towards the food bill...... Then I get a 12 pack/case thing of Innova for 20 dollars. I feed them half a can of the big can of Innova for dinner and 12x2 is 24 days, almost a month. So Yup it comes out to less then 50 dollars a month for all 7.

I do feed the outside cats though which is an extra.... 15 bucks a month tops. We have to feed them the cheap food though (Friskies and Whiskas type stuff) because I just can't afford to feed EVERYONE the top quality stuff but they are happy just getting something to eat.

I splurge to let them try new stuff though :o

Like Halo. My little Tripod LOVES Halo. It's way more expensive though, so I let him have it once in a while.
