I ran out of puppyboy's food, the stores were closed so I cooked up some ground beef with rice, egg and grated carrot for him. By co-incidence I also that same week starting making my own real liver treats for his training. This morning he tried to recycle his own deposits, immediately after leaving them. Sort of "hot" liver treats. Yuck. Has anyone else noticed corpophagia as a side effect of preparing their own dog food?

 I don't know, I've tasted great food but never tasted poop   .
Alright, I'll be serious now :o . Has your puppyboy eaten poop before you home-cooked for him? If not, perhaps because the food is new, it's not getting properly digested yet as his stomach is adjusting. I'm guessing it's exiting smelling just as good as when it enterred, just a little overcooked :D .
You could try adding digestive enzymes to his meal the next time you offer him home-cooking. Maybe you'll notice a difference.
