Pet medication dosage!

Last Wednesday my vet gave me Clavamox for one of my cats. A urinary tract infection. He said 1 drop twice a day ) orally). I asked the girl at his checkout and she said 1 drop twice a day. Clavamox is a liquid in an eydropper. Today I look at the eyedropper and see that it is marked in .25 ml increments. then I look at the package and it sais to give 1ml (one droppfull orally twice a day) so does that mean I should have been giving a full eyedropper twice a day? I have only been giving her one drop not a full dropper!

He also gave me Mometamax ear dropps (7.5). All that perscription sais is apply in ears once a day. He did show me how to apply it. this thing has a long tube on it. I am not sure if I have been applying this stuff correctly .He showed me to stick it in and then rub her ears for at least two minutes after. On the internet i looked it up but it sais 2 to 4 drops a day. But today I well cats ears have different holes in them and I am not sure that I been putting this stuff into the right hole ( or down deep enough) or even if I been putting enough in! ****, ****, ****!

You should always go with the dose the Vet gave you, sometimes the dosage listed on the package is a general dose not specific to your animal's size, weight, requirements. If in doubt phone the vet again & explain what it says on the package compared to what the dr told you.

As for the ears the holes all lead to the same place :) If it is in liquid form it will slide far enough down to where it should be, just be sure to be gentle with the applicator in the ear cuz it is very sensitive. Again with the amount of drops call the vet & ask them how many drops to put in, the dose info online would be very general and not necessarily appropriate for your cat. :D
