I got some nice pics the other day and there's an upcoming photo contest I'd like to enter one in. Here are 3 very similar pics of Flash, can I get some opinions on which one I should enter? Thanks These ones are resized but I do have the full size images available for the contest.

I'd go for #3. His eyes seem to be really focused and looking straight ahead. He is real purty.:)

I agree...#3 for absolutely no reason. Just kept catching my eye more than the others. Of course, they are all gorgeous. Good luck with the contest.

Thanks. I like # 3 the best also, but I didn't know if it would be a good choice for a contest since the very tip of one ear is cut off.

#3, both sides of his face are most equally lit in comparison to the first two. What a handsome fella!

I think I zoomed just a little bit more on that one, which is probably why I lost the very tip of his ear. Still getting used to that camera.

Flash is a boy and he's one of my rescue pups. I got him and Thunder from a shelter after they had been transported by a puppy rescue group up to Canada from New Orleans. They would have been very young at the time, probably only about 5-6 weeks old and due for euthanasia in an overcrowded shelter. They and 13 other pups were brought to Canada and I got them at about 3 months of age after they were available for adoption. They weren't available immediately as they weren't too well for a little while, they had to be treated for parasites and coccidia. Thunder is in the pics in the other message I posted about our last sled trip on snow for the season. He looks plain black in most pictures, but he's actually a very dark brown/black with indistinct merle patches on him. As a puppy his merle markings were a very noticeable light gray, but they darkened considerably. In the shots of the 3 dogs in front of the sled there is Lightning out in front by himself, and in wheel position Storm on the left and Thunder on the right.

I think the composition of #1 is maybe better but the dog is so gorgeous they are all good. Is he an Australian shepherd?

I don't know what he is for sure, he was listed on petfinder as border collie/aussie but they didn't know for sure. I'd say he has to have cattle dog in him though, he has the look and the coat type (not to mention always wanting to run in at my horses heels  guess there's a reason they're also known as heelers)

Here are a couple of other photos of him that show more of his body

#2 Speaks to me :thumbs up & you could always crop out some of the background if you are concern about it in the picture

and he looks Australian Cattledog (heeler) x Border Collie to me

I really like all of them, but I'd have to go with #2 if you are worried about the ear being cut off in the picture. He's such a great looking dog, he's absolutely gorgeous :cloud9:
