Adam, the newest member of our family.

This is Adam, vet said hes between 10-12 weeks. We think he is a Lab mixed with something else. Please excuse the mess in the backround, we are in the midst of renovating our kitchen.

Poor little guy! I agree with the vet, I see no pitt in his face (which is very cute).

Lots of love, firmness, patience, consistent rules, and some outside help and you'll have a good dog!

(I like your pendant too! Pretty).

Does anyone have any idea what mix he could be?

aaaaw puppy face. I don't see pit in him either, we need hazel to see him.i wouldn't be surprised if he's lab/english setter. I had one and he was almost identical, minus the adorable stripe on the forhead. i'd so have been tempted to call him lightning.

whish i had thought of lightning before we named him adam :P Would have suited him with his lightning fast personality as well.

I wish my pictures of my jasper weren't stashed in the garage. The speckled toes and chest and chin is identical. Somewhere on here is a picture of hazels english setters, lol all 8 of them. I would be amazed if he isn't lab/english setter.

lucky pup to have you as his new family. Will be interesting to figure out what else is mixed in his background. I have no idea on lab dogs but his head seems large for that breed? but I could be wrong, just an observation :-) If I"m wrong please don't be offended. I think he's adorable.

His head is pretty large for lab, i cant remember what type of head setters have. Do they have the short think nose and thick head? His head reminds me of a bull terrier in a way. wouldnt his hair be longer? I dont know, i dont know much about setters. Wheres hazel? I need her input! lol

I know alot of labs with nice thick square head, setters have a more narrow muzzle like a bull terrier. My jasper was short coated. LOL Hazel's been having connection problems lately.

I was about to agree on the setter when the pointer arrived on the scene ... fur-wise more logical.

Either way, he's really cute. Needs to learn that humans aren't all bad and that hands don't automatically hurt (poor little boy, how could they! :loser: )

Head out of proportion? Well, I didn't think so, but he's still little, he'll grow into it if it is a little big.

Oh, and we do need more pics, he's just adorable :D

isn't a pointer a shorter dog, he looks pretty tall for 10-12 weeks.

If you're thinking Bull Terrier (http://petcaretips.net/bull_terrier.jpg) no way, head alone is totally different, English Setter (11 wks old) (http://www.breederretriever.com/photopost/data/584/medium/english_setter_pup_3.JPG) is a possibility they don't grow the full coat until later

I'd say lab x treeing walker coonhound, lab x pointer, lab x dalmatian or possibly lab x english setter

What a cutie!!

I'd say Lab for sure and something else.

Sheeba looks like him a bit, with the eyes and muzzle and I know she's part Lab. But her ears are different and more fuzzy and that's probably because her Golden side.

I think he just lacks a bit of confidence and is covering it up with aggression. Poor little guy...

:fingerscr that I stay connected long enough to post.

Hmmmm...I suppose he could be part setter...you'll know in about 3 years when the adult coat comes in. If he's part setter, you'll have long silky hairs all over the house. :o

If he's pointer x lab, his adult coat will be a lot shorter.

Frankly, though, he looks like he might have some German Shorthair Pointer in him... (If so, you're in luck--they aren't as hairy as setters, either!)

Have you caught him pointing at all? Looks like:

35433 35434

If he's got pointer of any type in him, he'll likely be doing that occasionally on anything that flies...butterflies, birds...leaves...paper blowing in the wind :D

He's a real cutie, whatever he is, Akira!

Are pointers as big, or bigger then labs? Cause Akira is lab/treeing walker coonhound and hes already almost as tall as her and his legs and paws are bigger than hers.. shes about 22 inches tall to her back. What the lady who gave him to us said was that the mother was a rotti? I do not see ANY rotti, nor did the vet or anyone else thats seen him. Hes just very large and im wondering if pointers get very big?

aslan

Some labs do get pretty big, not sure how big a pointer gets, and hazels pupster look like and irish setter but with spots..

Even if he is part setter doesnt mean he will nesisarily have a long coat..my uncle has a english setter corssed with a lab and her coat isnt long at all..A little softer thats all..
