My hubby got a boxer/bulldog mix, Abbie 6 weeks ago. She's 13 weeks old and 13 pounds and bounces around and uses her paws to play, batting things and pouncing on things. My problem? Yesterday I brought home a 9 week-old 1-1/2 lb. Yorkie (still un-named). We'd appreciate any tips you have for getting Abbie to play more gently with the little Yorkie. We've had lots of dogs, but never two puppies at the same time.

Play with them, or supervise closely, and tell Abbie "gentle" in a firm voice, physically restraining her if she gets too rough with the Yorkie. But ... often, it's a youk that will be the boss of a larger dog, so be sure and not let the little one get an upper paw due to small size !

Thanks, Sarah, that's what we've been dooing, and I guess i knew there just isn't an easy way to keep the playing gentler. They do seem to both enjoy it and are getting along well, so maybe I should stop worrying so much.
